My mom and I are going to drive up to Spokane this weekend for the Farm Chicks show. Some of the past antique events I have gone to, people have had these cute little old shopping carts that they have made fabric liners for. I decided to make one for myself.
I found the shopping cart at an estate sale. The green polka dot fabric was actually a fabric shower curtain I bought at TJ Maxx to use for some pillows. I had extra and started to cut it up for the cart liner. I was going to tie each corner of the liner to the cart. Then it HIT ME....I used the grommets that were already on the shower curtain to tie it to the cart. So easy! I used old bias tape in my favorite color pink and tied each grommet to the cart. The inside floral fabric of the liner is an old pillow case that I cut up. I bought a childs license plate with my name (originally yellow and blue in color) and repainted it to match the cart. I also plan on using one of the neophrene style water/pop cosies to carry a water bottle with me. (See top left corner of cart.)
I think it turned out pretty darn cute...I'm ready to roll at Farm Chicks!
