Each summer one of my favorite things to do is to hit a couple of local u-cut dahlia fields. They charge 20 cents per stem and I can indulge in a huge bouquet for not a ton of money.
This is one of the fields I hit. It is really early in the season for the dahlia blooms so they aren't in their full glory yet. I still got some beauties.
This was my $5 bouquet. I like to break it up into smaller arrangements and scatter them around the house.
This happy little bouquet is for my kitchen windowsill. It is in a vintage apple juice can that I got last weekend for a quarter. It was full of old nuts and bolts. I love the graphics on the can...it is pre-barcode and boasts "made from tree-ripened Washington state apples". How could I go wrong with a cheery can like this?
I wanna go to the flower field! So pretty. And I absolutely LOVE that can! What a find! ;o)

Oh how fun! I go to local sunflower fields here in Virginia when I have a chance. I like to split those up too and put them all around the house. Beautiful!

Wow! Cool dahlia field! I planted them this year for the first year, Costco actually had them in the spring. I have been really happy with the results, they have been blooming for about 6 weeks or so now and are just looking like they might be coming to an end :( I like the super big ones! Thanks for sharing! Love the little apple can too! Apple Jill looks so happy with her cup of juice! You always have such cheerful posts, I just love you!

I just found your blog via a comment you left at Fresh Vintage and I've enjoyed reading your posts. Your dahlia photos are beautiful! I can't imagine seeing an entire field of them and picking my own bouquet. How FUN! :) I've added you to my google reader and will visit again! Smiles, Pam :)
