My cousin Mark called the other day and there had been a box of Christmas ornaments donated to a church thrift store that he helps out with. The woman that ran the thrift did not want to be bothered with them and told Mark to take them to the Salvation Army and donate them there. Luckily Mark knows of my obsession with Christmas things and called to ask if I wanted the box. And of course I did.
This is the box hat showed up...I crossed my fingers when I opened the lid.
This was the first of three layers of ornaments...very promising.
Lots of the solid colored ones, but some great ones like those pictured above. Indented, frosted and hand-painted....a pretty good box of ornies!
Nothing better to make your day than a FREE box of shiny Christmas fun!

Beautiful treasures! What a lucky gal you are! How silly of the lady to not want to deal with them but that was to your advantage! Enjoy!

Lucky, lucky girl you are! Wow! I love those last ones. I never quite get how people can toss things like that aside- but thank goodness they do!
Hope you are having a great weekend!

I can't believe a thrift store "couldn't be bothered" with ornaments! That is just crazzzzy talk! But all the better for you--vintage goodness!

It really pays to make sure that every single person you know, no matter how casually, knows what you like and collect! I've had a few things come to me that way. I've even got a rock from the top of a mountain in Colorado, because it's very well known that I love rocks!

oh. they are beautiful. Memories, memories, memories. Mostly of my grandparents, then a few on my mom's tree before she tossed them.
Your blog is so fun to read. Even though we live just around the corner from each other...nice to see what you're up to this way!
