The top of our small desk is home each holiday season to a army of happy Halloween friends.
Alot of these are my creations, and some are some vintage style reproductions that fit my spooky mood.
I found this three tiered orange piece (full view on left, top photo) at an estate sale last year and I pull it out every season and fill it with mini pumpkins and for black and white color add some vintage dominoes.
I also love this simple idea that I purchased from my friend Paula (who has a booth at Splendid antique mall - great stuff). She embellished some old photos with witch hats and devil horns and added some old letter cards to spell out the word "BOO". It is all nicely displayed in one of those wire photo holders.
I also added an old vintage scrappy mirror behind the display (top photo) and i like the way it added a spooky worn look.
Fun stuff.
And in case you were wondering...no estate sales today. There isn't anything interesting today and it is absolutely POURING outside. A perfect day to head to the studio instead.
Ack - pouring here too. Time to get busy was well. Really looking forward to the Monticello show - wishing you a very productive day! -amy

That last witch that you made is very sassy looking! Look at those hands on her hips! Love the horned man picture too. Once again, your decor is so unique and one of a kind! Forget Martha Stewart. YOU are the Queen of Halloween!!

I love the idea of putting witches hats and devil horns on vintage photos - I have a few that should be sporting them!!LOL!!
I'm so glad you posted early - you know I wait with bated breath to see what you picked up at estate sales - where I live, there are very few yard sales - and no estate sales whatsoever. That's one of the things I miss about living in So Cal, but I wouldn't trade that rat-race for my tranquil life that I have here.
Have a wonderful, wet, weekend.

I have been aiming to tell you how much I appreciate that you removed the word verification from your blog - TypePad has the most aggravating one I've run across. I mentally thank you every time I post on your blog.

OK. I am absolutely stealing, blatantly stealing I tell you, your idea with the dominos and pumpkins. If that was not enough because clearly you have the BEST ideas I'm also stealing the pictures with hats all mixed up with the BOO letters. I've seen the pics w/hats but mixed with the BOO letters - ha! Very nifty. - great ideas ma dear. Thanks!!

These ARE fun! Love the arrangement. Hey, no estate sales worth the time here AND it's pouring - are you sure we're on different sides of the country?
