Taking a deep breath and playing catch-up after my trip to San Francisco. I hit some shops that were truly amazing and inspiring. The Alameda Flea Market was a trip highlight as well. Posts will be coming...
My favorite treasure from the Alameda Flea Market was this 1930's double nodder.
I have never bought a nodder before, but this gal was just smiling at me from a booth. She is called a double nodder, because not only does her head nod side to side, but her whole body does as well. Every time I pass by her I give her a little jiggle. Her original paint is in terrific shape and she is about 10 inches tall. She made it home safely packed in my ice chest and I truly love her.
I also returned to a nice surprise in blogland. My blog has made the list of the "10 Best Junk Collector Blogs" on Blogs.com. I was nominated by Diane at Kitsch 'n Stuff. This totally made my day as I catch-up on laundry, grocery shopping and those other mundane tasks! Thank you so much Diane...I'm grinning ear to ear! WOW!
So glad you had a successful trip. That little girl is darling! Of course you're in the top 10 - your blog is fabulous and always an inspiration.

Laurie, thanks for writing about me ...but now onto more critical matters...I love the nodding doll.. I would have bought her too.....I am not familiar with this type of nodding doll...I have just begun to collect other small dolss with big eyes ( 1930s and 1940s).
Do you have more info on this topic? Dianne

Your blog should be number one! Your pictures are pure eye candy. You might not know this but your studio has been open for tours while you were out of town. Yikes! Let me say that you just might wake up one morning and find a yard full of us lined up to see this craft haven in person.

Congrats, but you're #1 with me!
That nodder is so cute. Will she live in the house or the studio? Well, wherever she is going to do her nodding, she is so Magpie Ethely!

I love that nodder, and a double at that! My nodding reindeer just make me laugh, and I can never pass them by without giving them a little tap. I think I need a year-round nodder. You're in my top 10 always, you know.
