Today is the first post of my Collection Challenge. First off it was fun to see everyone's suggestions...keep them coming! I didn't think I would have all the collections suggested and I was already stumped with a couple. I don't have old trophies - unless you want to see those that my kids got for soccer! I also didn't have any vintage toothbrush holders or Red Rose Tea figurines. Some of your suggestions hit the money and will be sharing these collections in future posts.
So.....today's challenge came from Lynn at Rocky Creek Scottie Adventures
Lynn wrote "Let me see your collection of Scottish Terriers"
Here you go Lynn. Please keep in mind that I may be a bit off with a couple of the breeds, but I really did try to keep with the Scottish Terriers (I am not a dog aficionado tho)
Some small old game pieces and charms.
A couple of pairs of vintage shoelaces with the Scottish Terrier logo.
Some old playing cards (I think I was a bit broad on the breed, but the cards were cute!)
Some more old playing cards made into gift tags
An old felt cutout that I found at an estate sale. I don't know its original purpose, but I hang it with my vintage silhouette collection.
If I put two old dog salt and pepper shakers in front of a vintage box with Scottish kilt wearing men and a plaid graphic...does that make the breed appear more Scottish? (worth a try)
Last but not least a very charming dresden type calendar with two Scottish Terriers. I got this in the basement laundry room at an estate sale a number of years ago. It was still hanging on the wall and I took it down - the dated calendar pages were missing at the bottom, but the image is adorable.
Thanks for the suggestion Lynn. Am sure your collection would far surpass mine, but I was able to pull a few items from my stash.
I have more posts to come, but the weekly challenge is on still. Play along with me....Let me see your collection of _______.
WOW!! I have been waiting all night for this!! And guess what? Truthfully, I don't think I have even one of any of your items in my collection - that's just more to look for!! And I will have to do a "breed" call - a couple of them - the ones with the two tone faces -are Fox Terriers. Thanks for picking me first - I'm so honored.
You have inspired me to do a weekly blog of my Scottie items - and it will probably be on Wednesdays for a couple of months or so.
Have a wonderful day.

Do those two little ones in the first picture have magnets on the bottom? They look just like one I have, and it's got a magnet in it. I wondered what it was from, and a game makes perfect sense. Wonderful scotty collection, and my favorites are the playing cards!

Love all of it, and using playing cards as gift tags is a neat idea!

So adorable! I am especially fond of them because we have a scottie! He is 14 now and his name is Brangus.
