Last year I did a post that mentioned my flatware collection. Alot of people contacted me about where I found my flatware, and for the most part I have found it to be a seasonal item. Well the CUTE FLATWARE SEASON has begun again.
Today I found these cuties to add to my stash.
I found the set when I browsed my local Homegoods store today and was smitten. I am quite drawn to polka dots. They were added to my pretty patterned stash.
I know they are mismatched, but they work together and make me happy when I use them. They are the flatware that I pull out for parties, not our everyday use.
I love them all jumbled together with their different colors and patterns.
So for those of you interested in starting a fun flatware collection...now is the time to keep those eyes open. Look in the summertime section. I've had good luck at Target and TJ Maxx in the past as well. This wasn't an overnight collection for me as I've been at it probably five or six years. I seem to add a pattern or two each year, but look where I am now!
Let the flatware season begin...the hunt is on.
Oh those polka dots are so cute! I love the silverware like this but they are not for 'fine dining' LOL but great for parties like you said and outdoor eating. I have a few solids but no patterns....YET!

I found one lone pink and white gingham fork at the thrift not long ago. I keep thinking I will happen onto a few more here and there, but no such luck yet. I may have to actually buy RETAIL (*Shudder*) and get some. I have blue Fiestaware dishes and love a pop of pink in my glassware and silverware.

Wouldn't you love to see a table set with this collection on a vintage 1940's or 1950's tablecloth? So retro funky, Dianne

Oh Laurie!
This is such a fun collection!!! I got the Target primary colors last year. They were originally a dollar a place setting, I got 8...then they had some half price, I got 8 more! So for 12.00 I got 16 place sets...they look fun with my Fiesta! I will have to keep my eyes peeled. I don't have a Home Goods real close to where I live ( Thank Goodness!) I love the plaids and the polka dots! :)

Laurie - what fun!! You know how I love turquoise - and this is such a fun collection - would go great with my collection of tin picnic plates - I have mixed and matched them over the years. I'm on the lookout now - you've inspired me again.

I love them! I have always loved this kind of flatware and do have red and blue. Your new ones are amazing! That is my favorite color right now. I just painted a bunch of things in my studio that color and plan to paint my pantry in it as well. I need those! Thanks for the tips! Are you coming to The Farm Chicks this year? Would love to see you!

I can picture it now, all your blog followers hitting all the stores you mentioned today looking for your fabulous flatware! What fun!!
I so wish I could be one of them. They are all 2 hour drives from my neck of the woods. Guess this calls for a Saturday road trip!
Maybe some vintage finds along the way!!
