I am lumping together three suggestions of the "hanging" variety for this post. Sandy from 521 Lake Street suggested vintage colored clothespins. Shara from Monkeybox asked to see my collection of hangers. Elma was a bit more specific and asked to see hangers from the 30s to 50s. I don't think I have anything that falls within Elma's time period, but I can come through with clothespins and hangers.
This is my favorite hanger. Is it odd that I have a favorite of something as simple as a hanger?
I think it is handmade and it came with these clothespins attached with a series of hooks and string. I use it to hang my ruffled crepe paper in the studio.
Everyone probably has at least one old advertising hanger. This one is for Golden West Cleaners in San Jose, Calif. Phone number is Ballard 60.
The combination hanger/clothespin set in happy colors.
Hangers for children with the cute little animal cutouts.
Hangers with a hook - I don't know what they were originally used for, but I am sure a blog reader can fill me in. I also love the sparkly, glittery plastic they are made out of.
Wooden hangers and fabric wrapped hangers in colors.
Hanging laundry would have to make you smile with these colorful beauties. They have a floral motif impressed in the plastic. (Penley, Made in USA)
A pair of floral hangers covered in a vinyl material.
Doll size clothespins in a wonderful assortment of colors. The top row is made of plastic and the bottom of wood.
My stash of tiny clothespins (not all vintage tho) that I use for crafting. Made of wood and plastic in a ton of colors.
Hanging out my collection to share!
Remember you can always challenge me to see if I have a collection. Leave a comment and finish the sentence, "Show me your collection of ______". I'll see what I can do.
I remember having those little cutout hangers, in pink and yellow, and you're making me wish I had them now! Another great and unique collection, Laurie!

Great collection here Laurie.
I have one little blue hangar and I think it maybe from my childhood not sure. I spotted spun heads (which as you may recall I had never heard of until you) on this blog http://dimestorethrift.blogspot.com/
Oh my gosh she had bags of them. Nan

I am always looking for those little kids cutout hangers with Scotties on them - they are hard to come by. The blue glittery ones used to hold some kind of air freshener, made by Stanley - I remember my Mom having them hanging under cabinets.

Hope you're having a beautiful day!

You really do have a prize-worthy collection of hangers. I love the wooden ones with the advertising...I have a few but I always wonder how many people threw them away when the colorful plastic ones came into use. Sad. Only very special things are hung on the wooden ones.

Hi there!
I, too, love clothes hangers--the wooden advertising ones are put to use in my closet, along with the hand-made padded cloth/knitted ones. I have a stash of kiddie hangers, too.
Pop on over to my blog at http://calsidyrose-elranchonotsogrande.blogspot.com/ to see my post on your marvelous medals (I ordered two from your Etsy store!). I can't wait to proudly wear them.
Yours, Cathi (Calsidyrose)
