No complaints about the two sales I hit yesterday and today. My friend Paula told me to go hit a sale yesterday that she had shopped that morning...found great stuff. I returned again today when things were 1/2 price and discovered that I had COMPLETELY MISSED three rooms yesterday! I also hit another sale this a.m. where I was #2 to get in the door. Estate sale life was good to me today.
First off the bigger items in the picture. A set of four metal folding chairs in that great green color, a tiny wheelbarrow and a huge oilcloth round pink polka dot tablecloth with pink ball fringe. Paula picked up the tablecloth for me since it was screaming my polka dot pink name..it had never been used and was in the original bag.
A whole tub of birthday candle holders and a great floral tote. You can see the polka dot tablecloth in the background.
More vintage sunglasses in wonderful colors and some hand towels with phrases (have a collection of phrase hand towels).
Vintage Christmas
A couple of old colorful clotheslines with clothespins.
2 old jewelry boxes (one in a spectacular green color), a old cardboard balloon pump (good graphics) and PINK poker chips.
This tin was one of my favorite finds. Look at the title of the book at his feet - "Flying Manual".
I snagged this wire basket the minute I walked in the door (as #2 to get in), three honeycomb umbrellas and a tablecloth that had "lucky" graphics like four leaf clovers, rabbits feet, wishbones etc. An old kiddie chair, a mug with a "whistle for your milk" slogan and a pair of killer orange vintage gloves.
Assorted spun heads. Two in original packages. I can't believe how often I find them...altho I am always on the look-out for them!
Tiny Christmas balls and old decorations for a baby shower.
Anagrams (plastic), party favor cups, a great wooden silverware container and lots of little odds and ends.
Paper napkins for my napkin collection. This woman must have had friends over for coffee quite often. (double click on photo to enlarge)
Two boxes of groovy patchwork stationary.
Happy to call it a "jackpot" day!

O.M.G. I can't breath I'm so excited about your finds-- especially that oilcloth tablecloth w/pompom trim, the little wheelbarrow (ah!!) and the little "whistle for your milk" mug. I could go on, there was so much good stuff. Okay, I got to thinkin'... how do you carry all that stuff while you're hunting? You must have a brilliant system, and strong muscles!

Oh my gosh this is unbelievable I think I'd fall over in a dead faint if I ever saw half this stuff around here. This summer (no it's not here yet) I'm going to have to photograph what they call a garage sale in Alaska. Happy Jackpot

Shopping Center Game, looks interesting and more birthday candles and goodies, what luck you have!!
We have auctions around here, not estate sales. So I wonder like Jill, how do you carry all your finds, and do you just open and go through cabinets etc.... Maybe you can do a post on "Magpie Ethel goes to the estate sale" and tell us what goes on?

Those sales seem to have been set up just for you! The collection of spun heads, sunglasses...unbelievable! I have a lot of fun seeing what others collect. We all have our colors that we favor, eras that fascinate us. All so unique!

Wow, I hit auctions but will have to start the estate sales too. How does it work, I mean what is the protocol at estate sales? Is it just like a garage sale where everyone comes and goes? thanks for the help.
