I hit two sales on Friday and they were dismal. That is dismal with a capital "D"! I woke up Sunday morning and felt like I hadn't had my weekend thrill with an estate sale. There was one nearby and I went to hit it. Wasn't spectacular, but did yield enough to make it worthwhile.
A box of glassine straws for crafting (I don't pass them by), a old jewelry box and a little bell perch for my birdcage (I have no bird, just a vintage birdcage with assorted vintage bird items).
A wooden toy where you pull the string and the legs and arms raise up. I now have two of these hanging from cabinet knobs.
This old Girl Scout book was in a bag with a bunch of Campfire Stuff. I didn't really look in the bag till I got home. This little friendship book was originally a quarter.
You added pictures of your friends and listed their likes and such. This girl sported some fantastic glasses. She also listed her favorite SPORT as CARDS!
A unopened package of five plastic aprons in this groovy floral. I kinda dig them.
Some campfire beads and a great deck of miniature cards with Scottie Dogs.
Glad I ventured out this morning...definitely gave me a happy day!
You got some very cool stuff. Love the Girl Scout book, oh those school photos in the 60's...

Don't you love the sketch of the woman modeling her plastic apron over the open flames of the bbq? So glad you were able to have a weekend thrill after all. :-) -amy

I won't even tell you which one I like the best - that goes without saying. But I do think those glassine straws are pretty cool - I hadn't thought about them in years.

Laurie, Why aren't couples named Ida and Max anymore! In years to come will we swoon over Courtney and Tyler? A thought just occurred to me with all these Estate Sales you go to, there a lot of people dying in Portland! I check my paper each week to no avail, I think I need to look through the big city paper of Columbus! Your July 4th treasures arrived today, and again my breath was taken away at the size of the paper hat. It is absolutely amazing, and I am going to frame it to display all year. I just love it! I am already anticipating your next holiday to add to "collection". I can't express enough how truly original I think your art is and how perfectly it captures days gone by. Thank you for the little extra flag basket! It arrived today, Flag Day! How perfectly perfect! Elizabeth

I think that girl's glasses are the same style as your blue sunglasses, aren't they? You look a lot more stylin' though.

You find the cutest cards. I usually find airline cards... big whoop. The scotties are THE best!
Glad you had a happy day, Janet

That chick's glasses are just too cool! Too bad they weren't at the estate sale-- they'd be great in your collection!
Hugs,
Jill
