I just got this cute little glass vase at the local antique store. I certainly did not need another vase, but was smitten with the "Flowers" label on it.
A quick trip to my cutting garden on the side of my house. It is a bit wild, but I love how many fresh flowers I have to cut. You can't see the dahlias as they are a bit further down.
A quick snip and I have the perfect arrangement.
How can you not smile when this is on your kitchen windowsill?
(three simple flowers...yellow dahlias, daisies and gooseneck loosestrife. I love the loosestrife although it is rather invasive. It is a great cut flower though.)
So pretty, cheerful and summery! Love the yellow and white and the flowers label on the vase!

Those simple arrangements are the best. I love gooseneck loosestrife. I don't mind invasive - it's less grass to cut.

So pretty! And love your garden as well. I'd like to hear what else you have planted in there. I have a spot I pretend is a cutting garden but it never quite lives up to my expectation. We live in the same city so maybe I can take my queue from you on what will do well here.

I am always so jealous of you Northeners getting to grow Dahlias and Peony's!!They wouldn't last 2seconds in this southern heat. I love the vase..this will be great as you get older..I am convinced I will need to lable everything..lol

Made me smile!! I'm not familiar with loosestrife, but I think I'll check it out and see if it will grow in Texas.

That vase is a great find! And I've spent alot of the summer yanking my gooseneck loosestrife. It took a few years, but boy did it take over this summer. It is a fantastic looking flower though!
