This challenge was suggested by Kim and I decided to do it this week after finding something at my crafting heaven estate sale on Saturday.
The inspiration started with the box.
When I opened it up it was full of this.
The woman dabbled in many crafts but also in making beaded flowers. I was very happy to find these as I have a collection of them. Most of these were never finished, so I may try my hand at finishing them.
The box contained patterns and directions. I loved that some of the flower patterns were for sweet flowers like apple blossoms and lily of the valley.
I also found two unopened craft kits in the pile of items I bought for making beaded flower arrangements.
I will display some of her work with my current collection. I display all my beaded flowers in my bathroom in turquoise vases like this.
I have about 6 vases and whenever I find even a single beaded flower at an estate sale I plop it in one of the arrangements.
These flowers just make me happy and I am always amazed how much work went into making them. I like that this past weekends estate sale find really tied it with this particular post.
I am always looking for new challenges for these posts. If you have an idea for me finish the sentence "Show me your collection of ______." I will see what I have in my stash.
happy day.
Love your beaded flowers! I don't think I have ever seen one out there but maybe I wasn't looking! I love the turquoise vases you have also. I hope you will try to make at least one of these flowers.

I love them. I've kept a few for myself, but sold a lot of them. Your post reminded me a doozy of an estate sale I went to several years ago. I ran across an UGLY vase with probably at least 40 or 50 stems of dirty beaded flowers...all colors and shapes. Everyone looked at me like I was nuts when I asked the price. They said, "Oh, a dollar, I guess.". I was thrilled. When I took them out and washed them, they sold individually for $6-$8 a piece. But mostly I just enjoy playing with them for a while!

Don't you wish you would have known this woman? The two of you would have had a great time, I think. Have you shown us a collection of salt and pepper shakers?

Ok. It isn't lost on me that this woman's collection ended up in YOUR hands! I think some sort of cosmic serendipity was afoot here. What a wonderful time!! - Kathy

Oh, they're lovely! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. Beaded flowers always bring a smile to my face. It makes me happy to know that someone is rescuing them and giving them a new home.
Blessings,
Kim
