I hit a couple of sales today. Not a bad day.
A vintage typewriter. I see these often but have never bought one before. This one was a good price and I thought it may be fun to use for a Halloween display.
A pair of old Halloween witch candy containers. These were in a bag with a bunch of Halloween junk. I saw them peering out at me and knew they were a good find.
A box of drinking straws. I don't have this one and will add it to my collection.
My estate sale day does not seem complete unless I find a bit of vintage Christmas. I found some vintage ornaments. The glass jar has some smaller ornaments and some loose mercury glass beads.
I found some great old Christmas stickers. There were two for the category "Don't open till Christmas" that I had not seen before.
A couple of bottlebrush trees that need a bit of work.
Once again the estate sale gods were with me and I found a pack of spun heads!
And last but not least an enamel container with lid to use for studio storage. (I have a bunch of these containers as well as trays.)
You once again did really well. Love the typewriter!

What's a sale without a few spun heads my gosh I would be shocked if you did not find some. That typewriter, before I left CA I got rid of one my mom gave me as a teen. It was an Underwood upright and weighed a ton. I think I actually had to give it away as in CA they were worthless. I didn't have room for it and really didn't want it anymore. Well I just can't keep everything you know especially when we had to pay a dollar a pound to move all our stuff. Nan

I love the way you say, "I don't have this one." And they way you find those spun heads...they do just sit and wait for you don't they?! Have a great weekend. I'm off to the flea market today! - Kathy

MAGPIE! You are surely the queen of vintage finds! As soon as my hubby gets out of the shower, we're hitting a town flea market. Crossing my fingers for some scores!

ps You get soooo many comments from admirers, please don't feel you need to respond to mine everytime I comment. That must take you forever to have to do that for everyone!

Laurie, You found wonderful things. I really liked the typewriter.
We don't have a lot of estate sales around her BUT I live only 1 1/2 hours from Roundtop Antique Fair. I went this weekend and loved it. I have been going for many years. I found two vintage/antique pencil boxes. I also saw a number of vintage Halloween and Christmas items. I saw some very small mercury glass ornaments for antique feather trees. They were beautiful. There were bells and pinecones, etc. BUT I rarely see spun cotton heads. Those only want you. I think they all move to your city and wait for you to "pick" them.
Happy hunting!! I really enjoyed your finds!

Hi Laurie,
The "goodies" found you again! : )
I'm really loving the Halloween
witch containers, stickers and of
course the spun cotton heads.
I think the typewriter would be
great for a Halloween display and
can't wait to see what you do with
it.
Hugs,
Janis
