I know you will be surprised by the subject of the collection challenge this week. Thank you to all who suggested it after my not so subtle post the other day!
I have collected these Christmas card list boxes for a few years now. They are basically like a metal recipe box except they sport Christmas graphics. They often come with cardboard letter dividers so you can keep track of your Christmas cards that come in and go out in the mail.
Here is the my most recent addition that I got on my road trip.
My collection is all manufactured by two companies. One is Mayfair Co. from Chicago, Illinois. The second is Stylecraft of Baltimore. There are no dates on the boxes.
These two boxes are by the same manufacturer, Mayfair Co., and they are my favorites.
This box held an extra surprise.
When you open it up a little tin Santa pops up!
I like this collection. There are a few more designs that I have yet to acquire. I primarily pick these up at estate sales altho I do see them on Ebay as well. I stack them all together on my kitchen counter at Christmas and enjoy their kitschy charm.
If you have an idea for a future collection challenge leave me a comment and finsih the sentence "Show me your collection of ____". I will see what I can do.
Happy Day!
It's funny that as much vintage 'stuff' as I've come across, I don't think I've ever noticed these card boxes before. Now that I've been enlightened, I'll probably see them everywhere. Thanks for the education! :-)

I've been hoping to find one of these at an antique store, instead of grabbing one from Ebay. Although at some point I'm going to start feeling desperate for one. Like now, after seeing your great collection!

I really like these and think the choir boys is my favorite. Maybe my Mom had that one!

Hi Laurie, I too, did not know
that these adorable Christmas
card boxes existed!!! I just
remember my Mom having a Christmas
card address book.
They truly are wonderful and I
of course, love the graphics.
You find the greatest treasures.
Please show us your collection
of Holt Howard collectibles if
you have them.
Hugs,
Janis

I collect the metal recipe boxes. I've NEVER seen even on of these. They are cute. I'm going to keep an eye out.
