Yep. You read the title correctly...tape. I like the unusual and as I was digging out my holiday decorations I thought I would share my tape collection.
I collect vintage holiday tape. It used to come in neat little metal containers with cute little graphics. Two different companies seemed to make the majority of this holiday tape.
Scotch brand with the cute little plaid graphic.
In addition to the charm of the metal container, the tape also came in colors or in patterns. The third from the left reads "Happy Holidays" and the fifth container sports a candy cane theme tape.
The other company that made holiday tape was Lepage's.
It also came in the metal container and had fun colors and pattern on the tape.
There was also a larger size of Lepage's brand of holiday tape, but it was a plastic dispenser. However, the Santa graphic still makes it pretty special!
You may wonder how I display this odd collection. It is one that I just toss in a jar on the counter. It sits next to yet another odd collection of Christmas ornament hanger boxes (perhaps a future post).
Do you have an idea for a future collection challenge? Leave me a note and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of ____".
Happy Day!
Oh...My...Goodness! I seriously can't stop thinking about these tapes. And now need to focus on having some land in my path while thrifting!! Yay for that collection, how fun!

I remember those. We used to spell out names with the tape and make designs on top of the gifts. Are the tapes still sticky?

Oh Laurie, I remember those tapes,
especially the pattern tape. : )
I remember helping my Mom wrapping
packages and that tape really did
stick well. I miss the metal
dispensers!!
I just remembered a certain pattern
of holiday tape. It had a white
background with little snowmen on
it and it was my favorite.
Thank you for the memories.
Please show us your collection of
vintage barrettes, holiday pins,
and/or vintage decals.
Hugs,
Janis

I don't remember this tape as kid but I am definitely wishing for some of that snowflake tape. I always try to picture the person whose job it was to design the graphics to go on Scotch tape -- sounds like fun to me.

I don't remember tape coming in metal containers. How cute! I bet they made the tedious job of wrapping packages alot more fun!

I think this tops everything!!
The irony is, I was just thinking of an old tape commercial, back in the late 70s, early 80s. It was an invisible man who showed up this new scotch tape that goes on invisible, so you can't see it. Do you remember that commercial?

I love this! You collect the weirdest stuff that i would never think to collect! LOL! WHere the heck do you find stuff like scotch tape? The estate sales in this area never have good old junk. I'm thinking the family must toss it all in the trash before the sale.

Some of the best collecting. And very interesting at that. Oh how I wish I would have been a saver 20 years ago. But it is never too late to start re-collecting.
May your Holidays be as bright as your Blog personality.
