Today I hit two sales and also stopped by to see a friend who was cleaning out her in-laws house after they moved to a retirement home. It was not a bad day!
At the first sale I was #27 to get in. A woman standing near me asked what number I was and when I told her, she asked if I would like to be #5 as her friend that had signed up was not there. That gesture made my day amd I was happy to jump up to that lower number!
Today was the day of finding happy couples. I found three!
A lovely pair of wooden egg cups.
A pair of book ends marked Japan.
The last happy couple probably hung from a cuckoo clock. At one of the sales there was a TON of clocks and clock repair items. The man repaired clocks for a living and he had a gazillion of them. I thought this swinging couple was sweet.
Some old clock hands for crafting.
I bought two empty frames for clocks. I will figure out something to display in each of them. They have great shapes to them.
A old Bunnykins cup with a darling bunny family dancing about.
Tin molds and two tiny spun heads
These are my kind of eggs to find. Cool graphics on the boxes.
Not a bad day. The clock sale was pretty interesting. I missed the majority of the Christmas stuff there (I saw a woman walking about with it in her basket). I still found some great stuff tho and left with a skip in my step and a smile on my face. Nice to have a good estate sale Friday after so many bleak Fridays.
Happy Day!
I have been trying to change my focus at sales so that I try to see other things besides what I usually go for. Those couples are just great. I have a set of bookends similar to those and I love them. What great finds. Fun all around.

Oh those egg cups are my favorites -- *love* those! Glad to hear you had some success because there were zero sales out my way today. Love those little pine cone birdies too - so sweet! :-)

Great finds!! I love those clocks and clock parts. Where was this one? I checked estate sale-finder at lunch time but I didn't notice any on this side of town mentioning clocks.

Finding ornaments in those egg cartons is just icing on the cake - love those graphics. Even if you missed the majority of the Christmas you did very well!

Loving the old hands on the clocks! Also, the kissing couple. Really, you need to start your own show.

Awesome finds! I, too, am looking forward to seeing what you'll do with the clock hands. And I never tire of seeing vintage Christmas stuff!
I bought a very similar set of wooden egg cups at a rummage sale last summer - don't know anything about them. Do you happen to know age/country of origin?

Good job and what fun. You know, it's also as much fun seeing what someone else finds as actually finding it yourself? ... and you don't have to clean, sort, and put everything away. Thanks.
The old clock couple are adorable and I can't wait to see what you do with the clock hands.

Egg cartons! I see a new collection coming on! Can't wait to see what you do with the clocks and hands. I have a feeling there just aren't enough minutes in your days to do all that spins around in your creative mind. Have fun organizing all of your wonderful finds! Elizabeth

I agree with the other commenters, the clock hands are terrific! Love the mini ornaments in their boxes! Would have liked to see what that other gal had in her basket! Maybe you can start a post category called the one that got away, where you ask other shoppers to show you what they scored and then we can drool over them!
