In my previous post I did a photo tease about what I found at the sale I dreamt about. I am ready to share those finds in a bit more dreamy detail...
This is from ONE SALE that I spent about three hours at. I thought about doing two posts on this sale, but decided it deserved one long post...enjoy the finds.
VINTAGE CHRISTMAS
I collect these little ornament trees. I got four of them in the original battered boxes.
A village of cardboard houses and lots of mini ornaments.
The pink bird has seen better days, but he is the biggest clip on vintage bird that I have ever run across. This box of rather fragile Christmas was just willy nilly jumbled in the bottom of a box with a bunch of other random items.
I am digging this "Jolly Skater" plug in light. He still works and the box tells me he works great as a children's nightlight! I don't believe the fingertip towels have ever been used and I love their cheerful sayings.
Great old tablecloths (that I hope respond to a good Oxyclean treatment), chippy pink metal shelves, cute tins and a tiny striped rabbit. The plastic flower cart (with pretty scrolly details) is pretty large and I got a pair of them.
This tin is from 1958 for Riley's Toffees.
More HOUSEHOLD goodies and other MISC.
A green wooden silverware caddy, a tin thread holder, metal refrigerator containers with glass lids, tin molds, metal flowers and a wire basket. The basket proved instrumental in holding some of the goodies I found.
A reclining wooden elf and a package of Mother Goose Drinking Straws. Can you believe how often I find drinking straws?
Chippy blue tin and a flower decal..how do you beat that on this old container?
The red plastic containers are salt and pepper (not sure what the center container if for). They all have a wonderful rose painted on them. An old crayon box, old paint tin and a set of salt and pepper shakers in original box (California fruit).
Plastic doilies in pink, paper poker chips, vintage birthday candles and a couple of wire plate stands in pink.
VINTAGE HOLIDAY and CRAFTS.
Stationary, corsage pins, vintage flower stamens and a ton of pipe cleaners.
The box of colored pencils was tattered and torn, but the charming little gal on the box told me to save her from a trash bin.
Vintage napkins and lots of honeycomb. Big paper honeycomb balls and smaller Easter eggs.
A good size stack of old wrapping paper (lots in original plastic wrap).
Something I have never run across before is the stack of butterflies in their original cellophane wrappers.
Old holiday cards and stickers.
A set of napkins and placemats with original tags still on original cardboard packaging
Vintage plastic party favor baskets and patterned wax paper sheets with boats. This patterned wax paper was a new find for me.
I found a stack of old file folders that had all sorts of vintage images that were cut from magazines and boxes.
In this stack of folders were gems like this...
I like the little "Sweetheart" frames on these packages of little pig sausages.
Some fun things for my spun head gals. Little plastic carts and the cutest little heart barrettes for Valentine's Day.
GREEN STUFF and YARD GOODIES
A great green metal cabinet. A wooden yellow and green rake, a wonderful rolling cart with wheels and a couple of unique tomato/peony cages. One of my favorite finds was the garden fence ring. A friend said she had seen them used in the garden with flowers planted within. I think this one may get a fresh coat of paint and find a spot in my yard this spring.
This is the longest post I think I have ever done..thanks for sticking with me to the dreamy end. I plan on hitting this sale tomorrow for half price day. off to bed now and to some more sweet estate sale dreams.
Oh Laurie, I have no words. I'm having a fit. I am. It's okay, it's a happy fit. So many wonderful treasures! It all couldn't go to a better home... except maybe mine or Amy's. Hee hee!
Hugs,
Jill

I'm at a loss for words. I'm dyin' over here. Maybe I should become your stalker or something, to find the sales you go to. :) I'd probably have to wrestle you to the ground for half the stuff you find though, cuz I would've bought the majority of this haul......Dreamy indeed......

Wow!! All of that and the red ring is still my favorite - although I really liked the ornament trees.

I too am speechless. This looks like an Ethel Department Store -- just the vintage Christmas alone would have given me a thrill. I'm amazed at the wide variety of things you found too. You must have the estate sale high right about now!! :-)

My oh my oh my ... it's as if one of your spiritual ancestors had an estate sale just for you. You and Amy both had great days, so maybe there's a great season ahead! Off to a good start, at least!

Alright Laurie, come clean......where do you live???? I could almost hate you, but it's impossible cause you're such a wonderful person. Don't worry I can't come to wherever you are as I'm too poor....unless you're here in Arizona and in that case all bets are off......LOL It would indeed have to be a dream if there was ever a sale like that out here. We get all the snowbirds after they've dumped their goodies in the mid west or back east. Okay, what I really mean to say is Congratulations on such a wonderful haul......cough, choke...choke!
Love ya'

It's a good thing you don't live close. I am across the country in Toledo, Ohio. ( I am originally from Tacoma, WA). I swear you and I could get in serious trouble together. Our tastes run in the same vein. I could pick it up, you could put it together. Our tastes are the same, but you got the talent. :} So get busy and make me something pretty out of these treasures! Ha Ha!
Oh and I thought of something for you to show....Show me your celluloid babydoll collection. :}
Enjoy.
Blessings,
Shelley

I had good luck this weekend too. Went to the same sale 3 times and picked and dug, 2 older ladies had lived in the house for 57 years and I mean to tell you i don't think they ever threw anything away or cleaned house. I had to finally come home and jump in the shower. Lots of fun.

I had so much fun looking at all the goodies. I have never seen little ornament trees. Those are great! I really liked the metal pink shelves and basket and the metal large flower ring. It all was great! Please show us what you got the next day for 1/2 price. Going through your finds is like a history lesson. I love it!

All I can say is..........
WOW!! You really hit a good,

I'm not kidding if I saw all this stuff I would faint dead away! In my lifetime I have never run onto stuff like this and I think it's because I've always lived in the West. You know how you see something from your past life and say I had one of those!! That little Jolly Skater. My mom had one of those, don't know of course what became of him but your owner even kept the box of all things!

Wow, dreams really do come true! That sale was made for you! I would have loved digging around there myself. I'm going to start dreaming of something similar coming to the Lansing, Michigan area.....

That is amazing! How did you ever get it all home? What fun.
I bet the middle container in the salt/pepper set is for sugar. Does that seem possible?
Thanks for sharing!
