I have a love affair with cabinet knobs. I think they are the icing on a piece of furniture or a cabinet. I bought some the other day at Anthropologie. I don't have a spot for them, but they were too cute to pass up.
Loving the deco look and the green.
Also picked up these in yellow..they have a speckled white base to them.
As I stashed these away for a future project, it got me looking at the collection of knobs currently in my house. I had to share the assortment.
I love the glass knobs, both vintage and reproduction. As you can see, I don't do the matchy-matchy all the time.
This cabinet has all the same style and size of knob, but I mixed up the colors.
I was lucky enough to purchase this tv console with the glass knobs.
Glass knobs on bathroom cabinets
Glass knobs on laundry hampers.
These chrome handles were original to this mirrored vanity.
This dresser was abandoned in a parking lot. I painted it and gussied up the original knobs.
I cut circles out of vintage wrapping paper and decoupaged them on the knobs.
This drawer pull was a metal pewter color that we spray painted bright white when we re-did my daughter's room. The details pop against the green.
MacKenzie-Childs knobs that I have had forever.
These are my kitchen knobs. They are from Home Depot and rather utilitarian (we needed 30 plus knobs). If the knob isn't spectacular, it may get a little eye candy hanging from it.
Original swirly knobs that I painted pink to match this hutch.
Original handles to a vintage file cabinet. They were rather mundane so I added vintage wallpaper that featured doggies where the drawer contents would have gone.
It really is fun to add some details with something as simple as a knob or drawer pull. I have my eye on this cutie on Etsy right now...still in the original packaging!
It may join my stash of knobs waiting for a home. I did a glass knob count while I did this post and I have 41 glass knobs scattered about...
and these are still looking for the perfect spot.
Happy Day!
That doggy is perfect. Cute crafting ideas as usual. Of course I never thought to mix the knobs in my OCD mind but those mixed all in a row in your stair cabinet are darling. My duck and chick came today. I think that duck might just be my favorite. I promise I am not your stalker..Ha! Very sweet tuck ins. Happy Spring! Renee

I may have to find a spot in the kitchen re-do for those Anthropologie knobs - wow! I live maybe 35 minutes from the original McKenzie-Childs store and factory - doesn't that make you want to come visit? (Also - if you need knobs from there - I'm your go-to girl!)

Wow what a lot of neat vintage knobs you have there. I have some green glass ones from a shop here. Also some vintage door knobs off my Mom's home and that's it for my knobs.

Love this post! My personal weakness is the Bakelite knobs. I am ALWAYS on the lookout for those- and one of the few things I am willing to over pay for since they are so rare to find. That jadite glass knob is just wonderful! Thank you for sharing.

Love those fun knobs! Everytime I go into Anthro, I fuss and fuss over the knobs and door knobs. I'd love to have an eclectic variety of door knobs throughout my house! One of these days I'll splurge!
Hugs,
Jill

They are all fantastic but those yellow ones are too cute. I have a few too, just love them. The kind of item that you hang on to and the perfect spot always eventually comes!

Hi Laurie,
Ooooooh, I like the cabinet knobs
that you purchased!!! I also
love how you add and mix them.
I have my eye on that sweet jadeite
looking one at the very bottom.
Pretty color.

Laurie ~ Can you believe I was just on e-bay looking for some glass knobs for some closet doors. How funny to hop over to your blog and see this post on glass knobs!

Alright! This is it! I am now an obsessed fan of Magpie-Ethel! Who knew I should be obsessed over knobs. I now am! I now will look at all my furniture in a new light. These peeks at your collections in your home are like peeking into rooms behind roped off areas on a tour. The best part of the tour! Laurie, I can't thank you enough for the wonderful V plate - too kind of you. My chicks are cute as can be. An Easter handmade will be on it's way to you this month! Elizabeth
