Eileen, Krisi and Nancy have all challenged me to show my collection of cats. Today is the day. My entire collection of cats falls under the Halloween cat category.
I got this great spun head fellow (about 6 inches tall) the other day in a random grab bag.
A couple more black cat spun figures.
This fellow is a reproduction, but he had two things going for him. He looks vintage and he is glittery.
I display most of my paper cat cutouts on a wire wreath in a little recessed shelf area in my living room. This trio is marked H.E. Luhrs.
These are Dennison style stickers, cardboard cutouts and bridge tally cards. They all feature cats.
Vintage plastic cat candy container.
Had to have a black cat blow mold.
Vintage paper cats.
A reproduction wire and tinsel cat, with that vintage appeal.
Candy containers and treat baskets embellished with black cat motif.
Since I am crafty, I always have a soft spot for vintage handmade items. I found this yarn cat at the same sale with spun head cat in the first photo.
Old handmade cat paper hat.
This was probably a Halloween project for some elementary school child.
My spooky black cat collection is all clustered in one spot for the holiday in my living room.
Thank you girls for your cat suggestion. It took me awhile to get this cat post going, but I had to wait for the spooky season.
If you have an idea for a future collection challenge leave me a comment and finish the sentence, "Show me your collection of _____". Always happy to dig into my stash.
Had to get your weekend Christmas and vintage finds out of my head first to get your black cats posts in there........Ha Ha Ha
Thanks for your wonderful pics and for getting me in the holiday mode. Fun to see I have a few of your black cats collections too.
Fun fun fun! Oh to be you :-)

Love them all! I think my favorite being the cat candy container. I have the same blowmold!

One can never have enough black cats at Halloween. We share a few of the same goodies but you definitely win the award for most "vintage" items. Your holiday posts are always a favorite with me.

Your home is so perfect for these displays with the little 'black cat collection'-sized nook. And how sweet are those kid's school projects -- you have a special eye for unique things, Ethel!

I love the first cat pictured. He looks like a real Party Cat... he's either dancing or he's had too much catnip. Maybe both.
Fun collection.

Seeing all these together makes me think of 2 things:
1. How I would love to collect black cats but seriously have WAY too many collections as it is!
2. A bar named Lucky 13 in Alameda (and San Francisco) that each have huge black cat displays behind the bars.
Great collection!

Wow, you just made me realize that I need more cats in my Halloween collection! I have that same glittery one, but he has no belt or hat and looks positively naked in comparison! Great kitty collection Laurie!

Oh my gosh Laurie your alcove of black cats is wonderful! And the reproduction bobbing cat is BIG! I love that. I tell you, when I think I can't possibly find inspiration to make a new craft I have only to come here. Big SMILE always follows me "home". Elizabeth

Love this collection too. Must say that coloring book is amazing. I am such a sucker for the dime store items. You do such a great job gathering and nesting with your stuff. Thanks for sharing over and over...it never gets old. Smiles...Renee

I can just imagine how your kids must adore the way you decorate the house for the holidays. I'm guessing you are the "cool Mom"!! I love how everything looks in that niche.

Your black cats are super wonderful. I am always amazed at how many of one thing you have stashed away. The first one is my favorite, but they all have charm.
