I have taken down my Christmas and up went my New Years decorations lickity split. It seems so empty if I don't have some sort of festive thing going on in my house.
I had some big one sided glittered New Years paper bells that I had never used before. I paper clipped two of them together and hung them in my front window (there is a big blue one and a magenta one as well). I hung some big pink honeycomb bells in the window for some color. Simple, but an easy way to ring in the new year.
My little alcove mantel got a little honeycomb love as well. The paper fringe is attached to vintage party blowers.
I love paper-whites. An old mirror and some vintage alarm clocks are ready to welcome in the new year.
The top of my china hutch houses the majority of my vintage New Year's party goodies. Kim from Camp Whimsy gifted me with the two smaller New Years plates. Pam from One Gal's Trash gave me the larger center paper plate as well as the paper cutout of the New Years baby in the top hat. I love friends that know me well and add to my collections!
I have spent the past few days tidying up. The Christmas is down and put away. The garage is organized and I am headed out to the studio to tackle that project next.
No big plans for the New Year, probably just a quiet evening at home. That is fine with me....Hope the New Year brings you many happy days!
This is an interesting collection ! I love what you have done with all of it but I esp. love the bells in the window and the little pile of clocks under the paper whites. Very well done ! Happy New Year Laurie and thanks for another great year of posts ! I have enjoyed every one .

I cannot believe the energy you have! I'm like you, I like a festive house too. I'm not as fast as you taking down Christmas and moving on....Although you've given me a push looking at your blog of New Years decorations!I even opened up boxes to dig out vintage noisemakers and hats that was headed towards a yard sale :-0
I found your blog last year and your older posts of your house all decked out for New Years whacked me in the head and put my senses back into me to find them.
So glad I found you and your blog!
Have a Happy 2012!

I took the tree down yesterday but the rest will stay up a while. I just got my hutch looking the way I want it!

So beautifully festive. I adore the clocks and all the little touches. It would just be easier if you could just put these directly on a pin board for me as I end up pinning all these great images to pinterest anyway! Just kidding. Quiet night for us too...65 degrees tomorrow so both kids coaches call ball practice...yeah us! Smiles...Renee
