I was not expecting much this weekend and there was not alot out there. I hit one sale this a.m. The estate sale lady cut off the line behind me, so I was the last person in the door with the first wave. I guess that is a good way to start out the year!
I got a hodge podge of small items. Nothing that made me giggle with glee, but was good to stand in line before the sale with my basket, hopeful for treasures and chat with my estate sale friends.
Two tin "Waiting Room" railroad buildings. They have no roofs, but would be cute for display on a shelf with the simple graphics.
A glitter bird (for my bird tree) and a couple of card games that feature cards with letters.
A vintage mica seal ornament, a couple of ornament horns (plans for those for the Fourth of July crafting) and a mica gnome/pixie. My grandfather had a gnome/pixie like that when I was growing up and I remember it in his Christmas decorations.
An assortment of pipe cleaner/chenille animals..a lion, giraffe, cat, skunk etc. I have enough for a small chenille zoo. Some of them have the original "Japan" tag attached.
I got a bag of misc and these shoes (along with the zoo) were all humble jumbled inside. That little pink table was in the bag too. It is very simplistic in the construction. The table legs are just nails that were nailed into a square of wood and painted pink.
Not a terrible start to the year. And as for that mica pixie/gnome that I found...he joins two more that I have. And as you know three makes a COLLECTION!
You definitely have more going on there than in my little town. I am so ready for yard sale season to get started!! Your 'hodge podge' is looking pretty darn good to me.

Cheers to a fun start to estate sale shopping in 2012! Those railroad buildings have amazing potential. Your mica gnomes are a happy trio. Enjoy your chenille zoo animals. They are very sweet.

I adore that seal - it's the cutest thing ever. I hope you'll make a chenille critter zoo (pipe cleaner bars? can't you just see it?) (except it's kind of mean to put animals behind bars....)

The chenille animals and the red shoes!!! And for some reason, I have an urge to go out to the cold, cold garage and make a little pink wood and nail table. Not sure why it is so appealing. Maybe because it is so simple.
Good picking.
