Polly asked to see my collection of vintage stationary. I do collect old stationary and pick it up if the price is right. I am also totally smitten with the old boxes that the stationary came in and have an even bigger collection of those than the stationary...just the cute empty boxes.
I love these little cards where you could insert a little sentiment to match the occasion... Best Wishes, Happy Birthday, Thinking of You etc.
Boxed birthday cards in cute rosey box.
Vintage cards and stationary often have the cutest little graphics on the back of the card as well.
Vintage ballerinas.
My sister in law gave me this adorable box of vintage storybook characters.
Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Little Bo Peep.
And now onto those beloved boxes. I like them in crazy stacks.
These are all empty. You can't match those vintage graphics in their appeal!
I love the clues I find as to why the boxes were saved long after the stationary or cards were used. This box was marked "Hair Curlers" and still held them when I bought the box.
This box was recycled to hold Bingo cards as written on the side.
Some of my empty card and stationary holiday boxes. I have more stashed in another location, but did not get them out for this post.
An assortment of more boxes.
Fun stuff..thanks for the suggestion Polly. If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "show me your collection of ___." Always adding ideas to my list!
Cheerio and Happy Day!
A favorite for sure. This challenge thing just gets better and better. I have that sweet cute and clever one but none of the other...yet. Sadly they come wrapped in plastic now. What a waist of talent. Love them stacked so wacky and all the goodies on the shelf. Keep them coming...smiles..Renee

I love this collection! It goes back to my childhood when my grandparents owned a flower and gift shop. She had a tall narrow chest to hold her cards, kinda like a file cabinet, but made for the greeting cards. I wish I could find more here, but the price is a little high when I do find them. I have 2 or 3 boxes, and boxes full of cards I can't part with!

I love this collection! Old graphics make my day. Don't you wish they would remake cards like these?
Such a happy collection!

What a fun collection to have!
How nice it must have been to receive a note or letter on that stationary. It's a shame that it's come down to e-mail and e-cards now.I love finding boxes with great graphics to use or to display too:-)
Thanks for sharing!

Another favorite collection. I'm always on the lookout for stationary boxes. I only have 2 but they make me smile. Your graphics are always wonderful.

We have a lot in common - I love vintage cards, too. I do share them, but only to people I know will appreciate. I'm stingy that way!

I bought some old stationary from an auction of my great aunt's estate several years ago, and I too fell in love with the quaint boxes and beautiful designs. As I could say about many things, stationary just isn't made the way it used to be!

I was a bigtime letter writer when I was younger, so I LOVE this collection, Laurie! The boxes couldn't be sweeter, and they're little works of art all on their own!

I am a note-writer (I take after my mother) and *love* all this stationery, not to mention the boxes - gah! I always try to imagine the artists who came up with those sweet illustrations - that would have been one of my dream jobs. :-)
You're creeping up on Collection Number 100 ... I bet it's going to be a doozy!

Hi, Laurie! I had a couple of vintage collection ideas. What about New Year collections, vintage scissors, or vintage children's dishes? I know some have been incorporated with other collections.
I always love to see your collections. The boxes reminded me of some in my grandma's house.
Happy day to you!

I love old stationery, too. I even fall for the not-so-old-but-hilariously-tacky 1960s + 1970s stuff from the old Current Company in Colorado. Be on the lookout.
