One of my blogland friends Renee from A Vintage Mending gifted me with one of her amazing handmade aprons awhile ago. You can read about it here.
She has the gift with a needle and also with putting together fabric patterns. I love her mix of modern and vintage fabrics. I also love how she updates older designs. Here is the darling apron that she sent me for my birthday.
On her blog Renee shares her projects. She is always sewing something. My favorite project she has shared was a chair that she recovered in vintage fabrics. She rocked this chair.
I often leave comments on her blog and many times have mentioned that I think she has a magic needle.
Now she has one. I took the smallest spun head I could find and made a magic needle for her. She can't use this one of course, but hopefully it will make her smile. Just like her blog makes me smile.
Thank you again Renee, am so glad that I have gotten to know you through your blog. Keep up that magic with that needle of yours!
Beautiful apron and it matches you!love Renee's blog too :-)
She does have a magic needle but you also have your Magpie Ethel magic!!
Bet Renee will love your little spunhead.
Glad I found both of you in Blogland and thanks for making us happy with your blogs and posts!!
Have a great day and thanks for sharing :-)

You are so right about her talent for mising the patterns so they are just perfect. I follow her blog, too, and I am sure she will love the magic needle!

She does have a magic needle. That apron sure is fun. The chair I would love to have for myself. Your magic needle is something she will treasure. So great to see that you both found each other in blogland!

That is perfect! Renee's blog is one of my favorites ... maybe if I ever make that cross-country trip to Oregon I'll go by way of Kansas!

LOVE the apron and the Magic Needle.. great mix of old and new. The chair's cool but a little too rose-y for me...I sold the exact tablecloth at my last yard sale to a lady who loves roses. She was thrilled and I knew it was going to a good home...unlike the rest of them that are in a big zip bag in my shed, awaiting a cleaning with Textile Soak, which I keep forgetting to order online...phew! was that a run on sentence, or what?? :o} Happy Sunday

You too are a very special crafter!! She will be thrilled to receive her magic needle I'm sure.

You are both a couple of very talented gals! I think the little magic needle lady is one of your most clever designs and perfect for Renee, right down to the cute blond hair on her head. Well done, Ethel!
