I seem to be in a spring mode. Last week was vintage garden/flower items and this week with birds chirping outside I decided to feature that collection. I have collected vintage bird figures for quite a few years picking them up at estate sales. Condition is not a factor as some of mine have chips and repairs. They all live in my bathroom.
Lovely cockatoos and parrots.
Mother birds feeding their babies in nests. I love these.
They have terrific detail...you can almost hear those babies chirping away!
4 separate bird figures that rest on big flowers. I use these to corral rings and earrings.
Birds that come in pairs with tiny vases attached.
I have a rather large flock of individual birds.
These birds are well detailed.
This bird is another favorite. It does have a repair, but it looks so spring like with the magnolia blossoms.
These birds all have a container as part of the figure. Pastel colored parrots that are simple in their paint detail.
I felt sorry for this bird pair that lost the perch and thus the ability to stand.
They seem to manage quite well when tucked in a cage which hangs from my bathroom ceiling
Some of my birds are a bit more whimsical in design.
This trio is one of my all time favorite figures.
Birds in hats just make me smile.
I have birds hanging from the wide mirror frame in my bathroom.
If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence, "Show me your collection of _____."
Birds on her head! You never know where those birds will land! After this post I realized how many bird figures I have. I think I may have to refer to my bird decorated bathroom as the aviary!
happy day!
WOWIE! That's a herd of birds! I must admit, I'm smitten with the Lefton lovelies. Decorating your bathroom as a bird aviary is so creative! You have a bird bath! Hee hee!

This is one of my most favorite of your collections. Your birds look so wonderful grouped on that tiered shelf.

I think is one of my favorites of your collections as well. Each one is so sweet and I love how they all look grouped together. Time to expand the bathroom yet? :-)

You must have a HUGE bathroom to have that collection in there. How fun! I was reading where you said you could almost hear the babies chirping and I can actually hear them chirping in my garden outside LOL. Their music goes great with your blog! You must be in full Spring mode now. Love the ones hanging by your mirror. The birdcage is unique looking too. The couple looks cute in it.
Thanks for sharing :-)

Love this! You know I have a huge collection of bird figurines but I have never found birds in hats - that is just too good to be true!

Been following for a while-but this is my first comment-loved this! Your handicapped couple made me giggle-but they do look normal in the cage. This was fun-I know I'd love to shop with you!

Love this, in fact I love it so much that I may have copied this idea about a year ago in my own bathroom. Oh yes I did (and vintage talcum tins too, sorry Laurie, you just have such a cute house I can't help myself :) I even have some of the same birds as you. So thanks for getting another collection going in my house! LOL

These are wonderful! I too find I keep bringing home vintage bird figures too. I have some of what you have shared here as well, like the little girl at the bottom. Do you have nay of those wonderful ironing sprinklers? you know those ceramic figures, or other materials that you use to dampen laundry that is being ironed? Love your blog and all the totally cool stuff you find.
