I have five pages with ideas from readers for collection challenges. Some I have done and some I have not. I KNOW someone suggested vintage wastepaper baskets, but who is was remains a mystery. I can't find it on my list. So for that mystery person, here is the collection.
When the mystery person made the suggestion I really did not think I had a collection of these. But looking around my house and studio, I do. Those that I find are not smelly and gross as they are smaller and not for use in a kitchen where the worst garbage would be. Some have not been used at all.
Kate uses this vintage metal floral can in her bedroom.
This fancy metal one with butterflies and rhinestones I use in my studio. I love the detail at the top with the lattice trim.
This plastic can we use in our bathroom and it matches the wall color. I love the crystal look of it.
Yes, that is the original tag that came with the can. It was never used and I could not bear to remove the vintage tag..."Cut Crystyl by Alladinware".
Many of the cans have a great floral graphic and I use them for storage in my studio. This one is a heavy cardboard and holds surplus of pipe cleaners. It has seen better days.
Another heavy cardboard trash can. I love the blue bow on the bouquet.
This one holds old Christmas light doo-dads.
Floral tin in the studio.
A peek in this one finds it holds poker chips in white only.
Last but not least another tin floral can. This one lives in our coat closet and holds umbrellas.
I DID have a collection of vintage trash cans. Thank you mystery person for the suggestion. If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "show me your collection of ____." I will remember to put you on the list, so I don't end up with another mystery guest.
MYSTERY SOLVED THANKS TO A COMMENT...Heather from Vintage Grey suggested this challenge...I am not losing my mind, I KNEW someone had suggested it!
Happy Day.
Show me your collection of vintage lawn sprinklers.

I wish I had a bigger house, because it's so hard for me to pass these up when I see them! I already have one in just about every room, but now that I've seen that you use some of yours for things other than garbage, I will buy more. Thanks Laurie!

Such great colors and designs on these! Why is new home decor so dull nowadays??

Those are great! I love them and do buy them when I find them. You have given me some great ideas for uses especially ones that aren't in perfect shape. I am soo putting my umbrellas in one!

I love these and have only two so far, not quite an official collection but one more and you know what that means! The metal floral ones are my favorite.

I must say...another of my weaknesses. Scary what they have done to wastebaskets now. All white and plastic. Love the floral ones and grab them when I find them. I believe I have a "collection" now too....smiles..Renee
