Thank you for all of you that cast your votes. I was surprised how many of you voted to open the little angel up. I had 51 votes to open and 6 to let her be and keep those SARPRISES a secret.
I took her out to the studio this afternoon for SARPRISE surgery and felt quite guilty..curious..but still a tinge of guilt. I only hoped I could get her back together.
First I removed the paper tag at the bottom of the gal. I remove her head as well.
I was hoping I just could unwrap the crepe paper ribbon, but that did not go according to plan. I carefully cut each crepe paper strand at the bottom. It was all secured at the top so I just left that as is.
Inside was a big wad of pink newspaper (still attached at the top). I carefully unfolded the pink paper and was rewarded with a bunch of colored streamers all wadded up in a tight ball.
Quite the colorful dissection. This is my kind of surgery..colorful streamers and no blood.
The streamers were packed really, really tightly. Here is my first glimpse of the SARPRISE hidden toys.
I am glad that I was not expecting big time trinkets.Part of the fun was just seeing how the ball was constructed.
Here is what the ball contained. A nail trick.
A fortune fish (smaller than the modern counterpart). An American flag on a piece of string and three metal things that I have no idea what they are.
Blogland? No idea on these SARPRISES. They are all metal and about the size of a penny. The one looks like a motor prop. The item on the bottom has a domed top and a rod coming down..kind of like a top, but no way to spin it. The third item has a tab that can bend out..perhaps a lapel pin?
Prior to reconstructive surgery this is what I had.
I crossed my crafty fingers and hoped for the best.
Phew! Not exactly the same as prior to the surgery...but still intact and ready to join my angel collection.
Now what in the heck are those metal SARPRISES?
