There is something about these old crafting heads that I am attracted to. I know some people think them a bit creepy, but I love the variety of expressions.
I have crafted with them for a bunch of different holidays
I recently came across some heads of the same style but they were CHICKS. Dang did they turn out cute.
The chicks will be part of my Easter listings. Look for them tonight plus other goodies. on Etsy Feb. 28th, at 5 p.m. (pacific time).
Easter is early this year (March 31st) so I am getting an early hop on the holiday.
Easter is probably one of my favorite crafting holidays behind Christmas.
I have a huge variety of pastel colored goodies ready for Easter decorating.

I have a weakness for vintage glass creamers. They are never very expensive at estate sales and I love it when you have a bunch that are displayed together. I am not a glass expert so I don't know the patterns of any of those I have collected. I just know that mine are all different and I like them.
For being such a utilitarian item, I love how charming they are with their different glass patterns, sizes and shapes.
This one has flowers etched on the glass, but was hard to get that detail to photograph.
I love to display them on a windowsill with spring flowers.
I have also used them for syrup when my daughter had a slumber party. Each girl had their own little container to use.
Yet another collection...did you notice I am getting close to 150!

I am thrilled to FINALLY start a bathroom remodel. This is the main floor bathroom that my kids have used for the 16 years we have lived in this house. It was not in great shape when we moved in and I did about every cosmetic band-aid I could think of to make it work. The time has come to say goodbye...those birds will have a new spot to perch.
These are the BEFORE photos. The project will take awhile. We are having a contractor do it. I will be posting on it periodically as it progresses. (looking in from the door, double sinks on left, shower on right)
Blech. I hate this old bathtub/shower. I can't get it clean anymore and the oddball shelf at the back of the tub will disappear. It is also a really shallow tub so when you take a bath the water level is never very deep.
The light-switch is BEHIND the door. Visitors always ask where the switch is.
The built in cabinet is going away. I will have a new cabinet built and I am going to go with a pedestal sink. The new cabinet will run the length of the wall under the window. Originally this bathroom had a similar cabinet to what I am putting in.
This is looking into the mirror above the sink, but shows the super strange tiny wall by the top of the arch. It will disappear and the arch will be evened out.
Toilet. Beige. It is impossible to find a toilet lid that matches the rest of the toilet. The cabinet beside it is a floor to ceiling linen closet. I can't lose that much storage so I am having a similar piece built in the same spot. It will be shallower tho so the toilet is no longer in a dark little corner.
This is another view of that linen cabinet. It is attached to the cabinet where the two double sinks are. Where the tile and the countertop meet is wood trim that I painted cream years ago. It is looking shabby. I will be glad to see it go.
I am keeping this original mirror and light fixture. I like that it is framed in with the window trim.
I will report in as we progress. I have a whole stash of vintage goodies that will be put to use in the new bathroom. I can't wait to get this project started!
My husband always asks me that when he gets home from work at night. I always rattle off a long list of things that I have accomplished. Always something different each day...today part of my answer was "I sewed vintage crepe paper ruffles."
It sure made my day happy. My husband did not even bat an eye...he is used to answers like this.
Last Friday was a glorious teaser spring day. It was sunny and 60. Everyone had a smile on their face and a skip in their step. I wandered about my backyard to see what was emerging. It made me happy to see all my concrete friends scattered about. They deserved a collection challenge post.
Most of my concrete friends have been estate sale found.
Bluebell is my very favorite concrete friend. I have posted about her before here. She is heavy and has her original paint.
I love the bow that ties her apron.
These next few figures are smaller and line the steps as you head up to my studio. They are good guards for all my vintage goodies.
I have a fish.
I have a chicken.
I have a mushroom.
I love this little pixie with original red paint.
She gives the evil eye not to enter my studio without an inviation.
A favorite kewpie is a bit friendlier.
Out in my yard I have a couple of deer. The bird bath is often filled with water so I raised the deer up on an old tin. He stays drier and the concrete does not erode.
He shows his age tho, with the metal supports visible on his ears.
This larger deer is corralled behind a boxwood border. He often gets adorned with party hats or a ribbon.
This pair is made of a lighter material than concrete. They have their original paint. They are about two foot tall.
I like the bouqet the boy hides behind his back.

In my world I can NEVER have enough storage. My studio is one of those rooms that is jammed packed and I am always trying to weasel more storage into it. I was at a local antique store the other day and saw this sweet Brown and Haley display shelf. I liked the price. I liked the flowers and I liked the sweet pink stripe at the bottom.
I just had to find a spot for that candy shelf in my studio.
As much as I loved the little turquoise highchair, it did not have much storage potential. It fell into the eye candy category.
I swapped out the highchair for the candy shelf. This of course snowballed into lots of studio storage rearranging with the newly acquired space.
I had a bunch of these boxes made from an old sign. They were tucked away in an out of the way spot and now I can enjoy their great green color and graphic appeal.
I still kept some eye candy like this silly toy stove and the pink pig.
My supply of mercury glass picks is easier to access now.
I had some vintage children's shoe boxes full of goodies that were tucked away in a cabinet. Now I can enjoy them more.
The shelf provided lots more storage. Lots of things stayed in virtually the same spot, but It was fun to add new goodies and rearrange.
You can still see the sweet little graphic on the side as well.
My, oh, my storage makes me happy! As you can see my vintage finds almost go floor to ceiling....making the most of every available space!

Only a few sale to choose from this weekend. I hit two today. One dud, one decent.
Happy to find a blow up Santa to add to my collection. Unfortunately, he has a hole and I need to see if I can patch him up.
A family of assorted holiday figures. I was happy to find a couple of spun heads as well. A bag of smaller Christmas ornaments, including a pair of pine-cone ornaments and a few unusual shaped ornaments in the bunch.
Random doo-dads were also in the bag of ornaments. The little red plastic cowboy charm is about the size of a penny.
A vintage paint box for my collection, a plastic bunny (missing the original cart) and a fuzzy chick. A tiny cotton owl is perched on the paint box.
I liked this giveaway from an Optometrist. A pack of treated tissues to clean your glasses with a great holiday graphic.
No giant haul but enough estate sale goodies to keep me happy and chomping for a good sale. I thought it funny that last week I found a plastic bunny and this week I found a plastic Santa in almost the same pose and style. Here they are giving you a blogland wave and a wish for a happy day!
