This is one collection I really love and rarely find...Vintage Valentine card boxes. The boxes do not have to be full of valentines, as I am attracted to the graphics on the boxes. I included them in a Valentine collection challenge post, but my collection has grown since then, and it is time to update it.
See why I am attracted to the graphics?
Sometimes I am lucky and they come with Valentines tucked inside. I love that the original price was 12 valentines for 59 cents.
Oooohhhh...a Surprise Box.
And I was pleasantly surprised to find Valentines inside. I am guessing from they style of illustrations that these date to the 1940s or 50s.
This box contains materials for making your own Valentines.
It is full of doilies and vintage stickers. I am glad that the cards never got made and the contents were saved!
This box is a favorite. It is empty. I love that the Valentines were intended for boys.
Look at his expression! All those arrows headed to the heart he holds at his chest.
Perfect timing for this post with Valentine's Day just around the corner. If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of _____." You never know what collection will show up on a Tuesday.
I think this is one my favourite of your collections. What great finds!

Darling boxes! I love the graphics too.The box with all materials to make your own is way too cute although your fave one has one of the best graphics too with the .10 and Valentines for Boys on it.Sure wish they had boxes like that now. I actually one box in my Valentines collection but it's empty and it said there was materials in it to make your own too.
Thanks for sharing....Your Valentine Box Collection brightened up my foggy morning here :-)

Sweet! Did you notice the little scottie dog on box 2 -- it looks very much like Mary E. scottie dogs.
Do you have any heart shaped candy boxes? And do you "fix them up" Magpie Ethel style?

Awesome. As usual, your keen eye picks out the most fantastic ephemera; stuff that was thrown out save a few treasures to remind us all what great artistry went into each product. No photography; DRAWINGS! I LOVE that you gather them together to preserve it all for us to enjoy.

What great little boxes to use for your Valentines Day displays! I am still trying to find the time and energy to put out the little amount of decorations that I have. Not sure why it's taking me so long! Can't wait to see yours.
