Way back when Renee from My Vintage Mending asked to see my collection of vintage fabric. I do have a stash of vintage fabric (even though I don't sew much). I decided today I would whittle my fabric stash down and share my collection of old pillowcase fabric/sheeting.
I love this old fabric and the border print that made it easy to whip up a pillowcase. Most of the fabric pictured is 36 inches wide and was bought by the yard.
Some of the patterns are just so sweet with tiny flowers sprinkled about.
Darling fabric with carts of flowers, fountains and scrolly lamp posts. Who would not have sweet dreams on fabric like this?
Love this floral fabric with the polka dots.
Teeny tiny birds flutter around on this pattern.
Same fabric pattern, different color scheme. Here it is in yellow.
I never pass by even a small scrap of fabric.
This is a favorite. I liked it so much I used it in a project for curtains.
I have also used the fabric for pillows. It works really well for bolster style.
It has shown up on roller shades that I made.
I also like the fabric as a plain old pillowcase. I pick up finished cases when I find them at estate sales.
Nothing more charming than the print on these fabrics! Thanks Renee for the suggestion and miss you in blogland. If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of ___."
happy day
p.s. for those of you with really good memories, I did a post on my love affair with this fabric four years ago here. It was time to include my collection officially as a collection challenge.
Who knew there were so many fabrics out there for making pillows. zzzzz....just a short nap and I'm up and at em again.

So pretty; wish manufacturers would bring back prettier linens!

So pretty. I love how you used these vintage pillowcases for pillows, your rollershade and curtains. So much more quaint than the typical options available at stores.

I can't help myself...I have so many vintage pillowcases...I love the cool feeling of those old cotton cases. I can usually find the printed ones for less than a dollar each at local thrifts...it's getting harder to find the embroidered ones. I only buy white sheet sets, because I like to use vintage pillowcases on my bed and they match everything! It might be my imagination...but I think white sheets are comfier.

Love that fabric!! Looks so soft and inviting doesn't it? I would love to lay my head on that. Those curtains and pillows you made out of them are just darling! You can't compare the quality of the cotton they used back then for linens.I'm going to refresh my memory on your "Love Affair" with the pillowcase fabrics :-)
Thanks for sharing

Great collection of fabric. They also make sweet little half aprons.
I've seen your little spun cotton heads before on ebay. They were listed as being turnips but I can seen them being used as flames, too.

I had no idea that fabric came on a roll so you could make pillow cases. It makes sense, now that I know :>) Pretty collection and like how you have used the fabric in your home.

Funny you should post this because I was browsing eBay and Etsy for vintage floral pillowcases just last night. I never even thought of searching for that fabric. Thanks for the idea!
Sure miss Renee's blog.

Never have seen fabric like this before - genius! What great pillowcases they make -- but I LOVE the pull down shade you made! How pretty!

Seeing all those charming patterns makes me want to start collecting pillow cases myself! I'm very, very, impressed!

I adore the red ones. Really, really adore them. They seem a bit harder to find ... I find lots of pastels, but rarely red.

Oh my! As the post pictures went on and on, I found myself greener with envy. Those fabrics are just beautiful. Love the window treatments.
