A timely challenge today with Easter approaching and my giveaway asking about disliked Easter Candy. It seemed appropriate to share my collection of cardboard Easter candy boxes. I collect these primarily because of those awesome graphics.
This is a favorite.
I love Mr. Bunny handing candy to Ms. Bunny with her parasol.
Vintage egg box shaped like egg carton with good graphics.
Rabbits with paint brushes adorn this box.
Funny Bunny eggs. This is a small version of an egg carton.
This box was included in my vintage store display post, but it falls in the Easter candy box category as well. Each of the little sections was meant to hold a different flavor of egg...caramel fudge, fruit and nut, cherry, coconut, maple nut and pineapple. I would pass on a couple of those flavors.
Chocolate eggs filled with melba with a few of the original egg cups.
I love these old candy boxes shaped like hats. The top comes off to put goodies in.
This is a favorite candy box.
The contents leave a bit to be desired though. This egg shaped treat is filled with delectable dainties. Fruits and nuts in choice abundance. Heavily coated with rich velvety chocolate. I think it sounds and looks like a fruitcake covered in chocolate.
The graphics can't be beat though.
Last, but not least a box featuring big eyed adorable bunnies.
A fun collection. I will show them on display in an upcoming post on Easter decorations in my house. If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "show me your collection of _____." Always fun to share.
Happy day and giveaway winner coming up later today.
I think I would pass on trying many of these Easter Treats but I wouldn't pass on the boxes. It is amazing to me that they survived the years without being tossed in the garbage or crushed by accident. Thanks for keeping part of the country's history safe and sharing with us.

Wow Laurie! Those boxes are adorable... I have never seen anything like them before; especially the top hat boxes! You are right about the contents tho... I think I prefer the box art to the confectionery inside. ;)

You have such a great eye in displaying things for a photo shoot!

Love these! I forgot about those fruit and nut eggs ... my parents would always get one for themselves and eat slices of it. I was never tempted to try it!

How cute! Funny Bunny is too-- funny! Yeah, not to sure about that "fruitcake" one, but the box says it's a real taste treat! They wouldn't lie to us!

Yum, chocolate covered fruit cake. Probably used all the leftover Christmas fruit cakes they didn't sell
Love the hat box!

So cute! I wonder if the charming graphics sold more candy than the candy itself? 'Fruit and Nut Egg' is not on my Easter candy shopping list. :-)

I remember the fruit and nut eggs, along with the coconut ones. I didn't like the fruit and nut one, but I always got the coconut one, which was my favorite. I put it in the fridge, then would cut slices off. Yum!! cute boxes!

The pink box with the bunny singing with the two ducks is my favorite. The bunny looks really cranky, though! Maybe because he has to share the spotlight with the ducks?
