One more Easter collection to share. This is an odd one. I love these old wax coated Dixie containers. They are pint sized and probably once held ice cream or another dairy product. These cute little cups were intended to be used as Easter baskets after a person punched holes on the side and added a handle. I love the variety of graphics.
When I left for Texas I had three.
Charming graphics with a capital "C".
They often have directions to let someone know they are to be made into baskets.
I found three more in Texas at Round Top. The same graphic, but in three color variations.
Then I found another one a second day in Texas.
I am going to make some cardboard lids to insert in the top and use them as little pedestals for Easter displays next year to add height.
If you have an idea for a future challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of ____." You may see your idea in a future post.
p.s. My love affair with vintage wax covered dixie cups is a bit deeper than just this Easter category...another post may be in store.
I found one with the lid intact a few months ago. It was for cottage cheese! Contents were empty thank goodness! I am amazed at how well they hold up. The best part was it was .25 cents on a half price day! So I got it for .13 cents! I'd never seen one before but I think they are so neat! Thanks for sharing yours...I may have a new collection going ;)

You always seem to come up with the greatest things I've never seen before. I think you need to write a book about vintage graphics... these are adorable!!!

I love the idea of using them to add height to your displays. Maybe I will find myself a few at Farm Chicks. Well, that is unless you get to them first. Ha!

Those are darling. How lucky to find more in Texas.Hard to imagine that they would put ice cream or whatever in those and then toss them out :-0
That's what blows me away about vintage stuff with great graphics. Back when they were used and tossed. If we only knew what we know now about hoarding stuff LOL.
Like your idea about making lids for them.....Cute.
Thanks for sharing!

Laurie, Your bathroom IS coming along beautifully! I love that you chose an old style arrangement for the tiles in the bathroom enclave. A challenge, hmmm, loose puzzle pieces, planters, any new organizational tips.
Already can't wait to see the containers in your Easter creations. Glad you had fun in Texas! E

These are very cute! Great idea making them work as risers. I can only imagine what else you must have brought home. I hope you took a picture of the whole lot before you divided it up!

I love, love, love these. I guess we didn't do very much in the way of dairy products best these are new to me. And the best part is no barcodes.
