Fun finds at Farm Chicks! A child size suitcase with little girl graphic, a metal trash can and a galvanized blade from a windmill. The suitcase will be used for studio storage. The windmill blade will find a spot in my yard.I was happy to find the little metal trash can. Here in Portland, Oregon we have a composting program for kitchen scraps. The city provided plastic compost buckets are UGLY. I will use the trash can for our compost (I use a biodegradable bag to line it). The can also has a metal pullout liner and a foot opener pedal so it is perfect.
There was very little vintage Christmas at the show so I was pleased to find this old cardboard fireplace. I have one similar to it, so this one may end up at one of my Christmas sales.
A vintage deer and the tiniest ear warmers for a child.
I need to find a bust for the ear warmers to decorate.
A few spun heads and some old Rexall drug signage.
A nifty child size toy washer.
Hello, said the celluloid head.
A Farm Chicks mug and tote.
A long metal drawer that will be re-purposed as a display frame. Right now it holds one of my best finds - an assortment of Irwin toy dead stock from the 1930s-50s. They will be great for some Easter fun!
An old push card with super red, white and blue colors. I liked the names that it had on each push dot.
If I was in baby mode I would use the names on this card for baby naming. There are some old fashioned classics...Agnes, Belle, Bernice, Blanche, Blossom, ETHEL, Daisy. (I am not in baby mode)
I did not get a ton at the show. It was interesting to see what was for sale though. It is also crazy to see some of the things people buy! I will be sporting my Farm Chicks t-shirt with this darling graphic. Already looking forward to 2014!
Nice haul. It is always fun to add to our collections. You found a number of items that would work nicely in a 4th of July display. I love the Easter toys.

Love your finds. The garbage can is great. I have a similar push card - to win a turkey for Thanksgiving. Love the old fashioned names on it.

Laurie -- these are GREAT finds! I can't believe there wasn't more vintage Christmas.
I have a few of those push "tip boards." Would love to send your way if you can use a few more!

Love all your neat finds especially the Christmas fireplace. Believe it or not, we are using ours to this day at Christmas. It's getting pretty worn, but works great and now the grand babies like it!!!!

I always love to see what comes home with you. Those Easter toys are perfect for your crafting adventures. The cardboard fireplace is identical to the one my parents had in their first home. They have pictures of me hanging my stocking on it. I'm glad you and your Mom have been able to make this an annual event.

Great finds! I, too, hate my compost bucket and just never thought to switch it up to something more attractive. I will be on the lookout now, leaving no pail unturned - lol!

Looks like you came home with a pretty good haul. I am partial to the toy washer. The graphics are just too cute! Those Irwin Easter toys would've made me squeal for sure! Love the way you use the child size suitcases, stoves, fridge and other kid size furniture for storage and mixing into your decor! You've given me tons of ideas!!
Glad you had a wonderful time there along with having an extra set of hands (mom) and running into your blog friend :-)
Thanks for sharing!

Great finds! I'm glad you had such a good time and got some goodies. I agree, sometimes it's as much fun to look as it is to buy.

It looks like you found some great things Laurie.
I love your idea on the food scraps. It doesn't take very long to fill up one of those brown buckets. I too buy the liners it makes it so much nicer to clean up.
Glad you had fun at Farm Chicks!

Good finds at Farm Chicks. I am doing a show in Nebraska next weekend called Junk Jubilee. They have had it in Des Moines, IA but this is the first one in NE. Should be fun but A LOT of work! I don't know how you do all the shows you do!
