Today I went to a big antique show at our Expo center. It advertised over 1600 booths and I always find things when I go. I also always run into lots of people that I know from shows or estate sale land. I love the social part of my vintage world.
Today I found good stuff. I was happy to buy an entire village of Putz style houses. I got 23 of them. They will be flipped for the holidays.
I also got some reindeer and some metal candle clips.
I have seen A TON of reindeer as I craft with them. I found four rubber reindeer today that I had never seen before. I have seen similar deer, but never any with a red collar.
I ran into a vendor/friend who I see at most of the larger shows that I hit. She and I have different looks and she was cleaning out her stash at home and set some items aside for me. She brought the bag with her hoping that she would see me and she could pass it off. She totally made my day with her goodie bag.
First I pulled out EASTER GOODIES.
Six larger cotton chicks. I already have a pair that I dug out of dumpster. Now I have six more to add to my collection. I don't find this larger size super often.
Spun cotton bunny heads, a vintage candy box and vintage millinery flowers.
Tiny easter eggs on chenille stems with chicks inside.
I then pulled out some CHRISTMAS goodies.
Totally kitschy Christmas elf scene that lights up.
I love these old plastic snowflake ornaments. Some are broken but I can still use them. I have a stash of pink and clear ones already. The turquoise ones are super!
Happy day!
What a lucky duck you are! Scoring a bunch of goodies and then having a friend gift you with a bag full of vintage stuff you love! Great fun and great friends!!
Love those chenille chicks(wire feet). I have a couple of the larger ones too. I've been hoarding Putz houses for awhile now. Can never have too many of those. Glad you scored today!
Thanks for sharing :-)

How in the world do you manage to go to an antique show where things are for sale and end up coming home with amazing & FREE goodies? Oh yes, must be another part of the Magpie Ethel Magic:-)
Friends who understand our love of cute old things and who set them aside for us are the best, aren't they?

Oh.My.Word. All those putz houses!
I had to smirk about the goodie bag. I have to wonder how many people set aside castoffs for you, as I am doing the same. There are those things not worth the trouble of listing, but are perfect for Magpie's stash...:)

Wowza, a whole village! I went to the Expo show once, long ago, and have not gone back. I get so overwhelmed there that I cannot buy anything because I think the next booth will have something I want even more. Silly, I know! I should go and plan to just look, maybe. In the meantime, I shall live vicariously through you. 8+)

I LOVE every little piece! Isn't it so much fun to re-do Putz Houses? Hope you got a great deal on such a large lot of them! I haven't seen the deer with the red collar either! Super cute. I'm starting my holiday crafting now! I'm just so in the mood!
Great Job on all all of your Holiday Finds!

I have that same light-up Xmas scene! Unfortunately the gold cardboard part was a wreck so I had to cut that off and then frame it. Never thought I'd see another one of those, but you seem to always find out of the ordinary stuff! Love those chicks in their little hats too!

How fantastic is that light-up Christmas scene! Good for you on rescuing it. You have the best of friends giving you all sorts of vintage holiday. Those chicks are adorable.
