I hit two sales yesterday and one today. I found some good stuff. It is crazy rainy and stormy here so I am not venturing outside to take photos of my loot.
My loaded up kitchen table. The fabric covering the table is an old duvet cover, so there is lots of yardage.
A box of old sight phrase cards. I always like the funny phrases that there are - the little chickens, the white sheep, all day etc.
A bunch of old Santa felt money holder ornaments in original Shiny Brite packaging. They would be cute to slip a gift card into as well.
A pyramid of tiny Santa mugs and a lone Santa figure.
Old canasta cards with a seashell design and some old labels.
3 cute little pixies and vintage containers of glitter.
Package tie ons and a oversize book of matches.
I love that the oversize matchbooks always have a graphic on the matches.
A Gurley turkey candle in very good shape.
I have quite a few of these candles, but they rarely have the tag attached on the bottom (and in such good condition)
A strand of old glass garland, plastic lidded containers in pink and turquoise, a vintage nativity scene and a daisy shower cap in original packaging.
Dixie cups. I can't pass Dixie cups by when they have fun graphics, especially polka dots. Dixie cups and pipe cleaners. I found pipe cleaners as well this weekend.
Old candle clips and a slew of assorted letters.
A couple of carts to be gussied up for Easter and a monkey squeaky toy.
A Singer pinking machine and a glass jar with dice.
One of the sales had a crazy amount of doilies. I picked out a few for a project I plan on doing.
An old child's menu dated 1948. Great squirrel illustration with a sailor cap and a polka dot bow tie.
I am wondering if this is from a restaurant at the Grand Canyon. It talks about the Kaibab squirrel living only on the north end of the Grand Canyon. Cheap food prices too!
Last but not least one of my favorite finds this weekend. A unused vintage broom. My husband is a sweeping maniac. He sweeps our driveway, our patio and our front street area. He has worn out our old broom. I have been on the lookout for one at estate sales to replace the old one. (Old one on top of photo and new one on bottom..that man can sweep and wear out those bristles)
I love that it has the original paper still wrapped around it and the original manufacturers label. It is labeled a Janitor #30..it sounds like a broom that can stand up to Tom's sweeping!
Hope you managed to sweep up some good finds this weekend too. Happy Day!
Another great weekend spent gathering!!! It's always nice to bring something home for the supportive family members!! I can only imagine how happy your Tom was to receive such a wonderful gift...something he'll use!

This is a fun batch! I love the print on the duvet! And I think that's the prettiest Gurley I've ever seen! I'm very curious about your doily project. Every sale I go to is loaded with them. Sometimes they're just too cute to pass up.
I went to the last day of a sale this morning and found a few cool things including a great concrete planter from the backyard.
Have a great Sunday!

THAT'S IT!!! I am moving. Never in my wildest dreams would I EVER find such treasures. And all in one week end too. And you even added to several of your collections. Keep it coming Laurie.

I might have to stop commenting-- running out of things to say! Amazing as always. Love that menu!

Those pink and turquoise lidded containers caught my eye right away. Are they plastic? Do you know who makes them? They definitely look like something that would be right at home in my kitchen. I love the pixies & Santa mugs. Both something that I collect. I have to hide the pixies when Hanna comes to visit though. I should probably start her on her own collection :-)
Tell Tom that if he runs out of sweeping at your house, he can head my way. This CRAZY stormy weather has made quite a mess outside.
Have a great Sunday & stay dry!

I absolutely adore that children's menu. The graphics are amazing. I'm always amazed at what things are saved over the years. How nice that you get to rescue them! Love those over-sized matches too. I see lots of crafting potential with most of your lovely treasures. Good for you! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I am totally in love with those matches. I've never seen anything like that. Awesome!

I am always amazed at the amount of stuff you find each week. I'm curious how far you usually drive to your sales. We just don't have the population you have, so the sales aren't that good. Also, if the paper items you find have musty smells. I find that a lot.

A sign of a true junker is one that will go despite the weather. Is it still storming? Love the pixies!

Hi, Laurie! Love those Dixie cups! ♥

Well, I love the squirrel menu but I hope the squirrel in only on the outside cover and not listed as a hot dish!
Does that pinking machine work? Gadgets are always fascinating. And a girl can never have too many Gurley candles, especially when they are in great shape. I bought a bunch of little pilgrims and turkeys last week. So cute.
Stay dry and warm...

Storming down this way too. Nice haul! Love those phrase cards. I never find those. I have those little Santa mugs.....Hopefully I'll be able to figure out something to do with them. Hmmmm....Wonder what your project with the doilies is going to be??
Ha Ha Ha, That's funny about Tom being a sweeping maniac :-) Didn't know you could wear out the bristles like that. I always learn something new on your blog!

Wow! You've done it again! Another awesome estate sale haul. I hit one this weekend and it was a total bust so I'm super jealous.
Love those felt Santas in the original packages. And the children's menu is so cool. Again, I got back to my previous statement. It's so interesting to see the strange things that people chose to keep.

Tom's old broom looks like a perfect Witch's flying broom now. I think my favorite item is the squirrel menu. Great graphic in great shape. Love the turkey also. Gurley candles are one of those things which trigger early happy memories. Can't wait to hear the Aunt Tillie's crawlspace story.

Loving the Children's Menu... hard to imagine something like that lasting for 65 years (I know that since that is the year my parents were married - on Oct 16th they will be celebrating their 65th anniversary!)

Hey, on the subject of tiny Santa mugs ... I saw a box of them at the auction I went to Saturday (I did not buy them) but the box was marked 'Santa nut cups.' And I wondered if that was what they were used for originally? I liked the idea. Lots of good stuff, as always! If I ever see Dixie cups, I will get them for you.
