Hi Gang!
I hit one estate sale today (there were not many listed). I also hit a couple of garage sales as I was hunting for a dresser for Ben to take back to college with him. I usually don't hit garage sales so was glad it paid off by finding a dresser. Most of these items came from the estate sale. Three items came from garage sales.
A few boxes of hot pink Shiny Brite ornaments, a Santa/child photo and a lone spun head angel.
A pack of old pipe cleaners, some battered tin kitchen items and a photo of some cowboy kids.
Two squeaky toys and some vintage ribbon cardboard spools.
Old greeting cards and a pair of plastic flower clusters.
I am not sure what the clusters were originally used for, but the flowers will be great to craft with. Love the colors.
These two items were both garage sale finds. The woman at the garage sale gifted me with the tin when I found it on the bottom shelf in the garage.
I like the red and turquoise graphics on the tin. I also like the fact the contents were an adventure in good eating.
This piggy bank was my other garage sale find.
I sm always attracted to items with kid graphics. This giveaway safety game is dated 1954. It was produced by JC Penney and the National Safety Council. The game features STOP and GO the safety twins!
This game will tickle your safety bone!
The game cards are great. You taught a smaller child to wait for a green light. Your rode your bicycle at night without safety reflector.
I certainly find more items in estate sale land. It was interesting to hit garage sales, but makes me love estate sale land even more. So many oddball newer items for sale at garage sales that you have to wade through!
Hope you find some treasures this weekend..happy day!
Love those black and white photos. Those flower clusters are pretty neat too. A nice little haul. Chris came home with a box full of putz houses. A nice way to end a very long work week.

I love the photo of the Cowboy Kids! I am wading through piles of old paper ephemera, and I enjoy the kid graphics too. Such innocent days back in the 40's, 50's and 60's....

A dresser for Maddie is on my list too! I love that Duncan Hines tin. Turquoise with red is one of my favorite color combos.
Brian & I are off to an auction this morning. I will be tearing him away from his beloved college football for a while so hopefully its worth it!

Hi Laurie!
Love those flowers and really love that tin (I have a weakness for tins!) and the Santa photo is priceless! (hard to believe people give them up)
Have a great weekend...karen...

Nice finds. Gosh, I can't even remember the last time I ventured into garage sale land. Here in Portland it seems like you could spend a whole day driving to one after another and not find a single good one. Glad you were able to score the dresser!

I totally understand your feeling about garage sales. I definitely like estate sales or flea mkts better.....although I have scored at some garage sales. We get the big items like the dresser you scored and other furniture pieces. Not a ton of true estate sales down this way. I love the little piggy bank! I just got another idea from you. The black and white photo of Santa and the little girl....I'm going to pull mine out and display it!!
Thanks for another great idea!!!

Nice finds! Would you believe my husband and I were at an estate sale this a.m. and ran into our next door neighbor. He had bought two chairs and could only get one in his car so we brought the other one home for him. Weird coincidence!

I ran away to join the circus to day. Okay, I went looking for junk. Pickings were slim. I followed so many signs that never lead anywhere. So frustrating! But, when yard sales are all you have, you have to follow them. Estate Sales here are usually people that had down sized already and have only the necessities. Or they are wealthy folks up Bella Vista Village and they don't have spun heads, Shiny Brites or cute games. :( You are very lucky to have SO many great Estate Sales.

Woohoo for a few unexpected garage sale finds! I usually don't expect to get much vintage at those types of sales either, so it's a pleasant surprise when it happens.
Got my owl wall hanging today. I LOVE it! And the little domino pendant is adorable. Those kitties are so iconic of vintage Halloween. Thanks so much!
