Martha from Q is for Quilter left me a comment the other day. She had recently found a vintage watercolor tin at Goodwill and wondered if I collected them. I did a post on paint tins and books on Challenge #22 (neat paint books if you don't remember the post). However, that post was written over three years ago and my collection has grown. It is time to share again.
Simple paint tins. Collected because of the variety of graphics.
Made by the American Crayon Company in the good old USA. Original price of 49 cents.
These are all simple run of the mill paint boxes. I probably had one like this growing up.
Guitar Water Colors.
Never used and with the original paper insert that identified the colors.
I think this Revoli box is one of my older ones. I believe it is from the 40s.
I think this is another old one by Radiant.
This paint box has a favorite graphic. I love the center star with the words "Happiness on every page".
Some of the prettiest tins are made in England. Page of London tin, made in England.
Another made in England.
In great condition inside.
With all the colors labeled.
Original price tag of 69 cents on the back.
Children playing with penguins. Page of London tin, made in England.
I did not know that a penguin would eat a banana!
Little Crayon Color Corp of Brooklyn, N.Y.
This tin is huge at 19 x 9 inches...it really is a super paint box!
Even the interior is pretty with the graphics.
Two sizes of this tin.
A fun collection and nice to update it with my new treasures. Thanks for the suggestion Martha. If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of ____."
Those English paint boxes are fabulous. Such beautiful graphics. What a fun collection. I haven't come across any of those at recent estate sales. I'm always scouring the artist/crafting supplies and that isn't anything I've ever found. You really do find super things.

We used the Prang water colors in school and I had a Little Artist at home. Of course it's been gone a long time now.

They are all so neat! The one with the little girl trying to feed the penguin is my favorite. These are so much more fun than the boring plastic containers paints are in now.

Wow.....Love the ones from England. Actually they're all kind of neat! The Penguin and Wonderland one is darling. I didn't know they ate bananas too. I'm not 100% sure but I think I had the Playtime ones we had to use in school. The family looks really familiar to me. I can't imagine my kids using those in school now! Thanks for the walk down memory lane :-)
Very colorful morning with my coffee.
Think I'll put my lavender sweater on now!

The Little Artist tin is just like the one I found at the Goodwill -- I should have known you'd have one like it.
Thanks for answering my challenge. I really enjoyed looking at all the wonderful tins in your collection, and especially love those adorable English paint boxes.

I can't believe all the pretty colors that those tins have inside. About a million times better than those cheapie Crayola ones you find nowadays. What a fun collection. I will be on the lookout for them for you! Do you display them?

The English ones have it for inspiration but there is something about that Radiant one that pulls me right in. Maybe I had something similar as a child.

I remember having a paint tin but I sure don't remember the design! You have some neat ones, thanks for the memory!

I love them all, but the first one is extra great because it has my name on it! I love anything with my name!

I just love old paint tins... I would love to add some to my vintage office supplies collection. They are hard to find in good condition, but I do love the graphics! Another great collection Laurie!
