I am so in need of a really good digger sale. This time of the year is like a drought in estate sale land (despite the cat and dog rain here today). Friday there was not much advertised so I hit a couple antique malls. Today I hit the second day of a sale. The sale had such great potential but the prices were so insane. I only bought one thing.
Vintage water bottle box marked Tissue paper.
I used old crepe paper for crafts (better than the new stuff) and this box also had some random crepe paper hats. Bonus was a Halloween hat, a flapper girl blower and a Halloween blower.
The blower didn't look like much but when I rolled out the coil of paper I found good Halloween graphics.
The malls and shops I hit on Friday were decent. I did score a few fun things.
One child's bathing cap for my collection. What made this cap awesome was the design molded into the rubber. It is made to resemble hair..bangs, curls and a few flowers tucked in for fun.
One hot water bottle in a fish shape. I hope to frame it and display it in my someday beach house.
My super duper favorite find of the day was this old folding bar cart/tv tray. I paid $12 for it and have not seen one like it before.
It folds out flat with two shelves.
It folds up in the back so you basically have half the cart and still have two shelves.
And then in folds up all the way for easy storage! Plus it has wheels. It is a crazy cool cart!
Not a wonderful day in estate sale/mall land, but at least I did find some things. Chomping at the bit for a decent sale. Hoping next weekend brings a great sale and vintage treasures.
Happy Day!
Love the Halloween graphics in your tissue box. That cart is totally YOU! It's been super duper slow in estate sale land here too.

That cart will be great for your shows I bet. I love it. All that old tissue paper stuff is so neat. I'm always amazed that you can find things with such personality. I had a ME day of thrifting today. I didn't find a lot, but I had a nice time all by myself.
PS I hope you get that beach house someday. I'm going to have an Airstream someday.

I swear you could find something in the middle of nowhere-you have the "magic" touch. Or should I say the "Magpie" touch!!!
I especially love the fish! I can so see it in your beach house, what a fun idea. You just might need some of those plaster fish and bubbles like from back in the day! :o)
When pickins are slim it is nice to have your blog to keep us going!!!
Thanks!

I own the little brother of your fish. He has been rattling around in my "Junk drawer" for the past 18 years. If you send your address I will mail him to you.

I have one of those carts. Mine's called a Versa Fold N Roll Table!!! I bought it a church sale a few years ago and use it in my craft room. Around here it's been slim pickings. No estate sales and just junk in the thrift stores. Spring is just around the corner though (if three months is around the corner).

I do like that table! Anything that folds up and rolls away is a winner in my book. Glad you found another bathing cap!

I found that very same cart at a Senior Center sale this past summer, I paid 2.00, I had never seen one before either. Love it.

Maybe not your typical wonderful day but the fish and the cart are great finds. Swim cap too. I've not seen a cart like that and it looks like it is in great shape.

That bathing cap with the "hair" is so cute. I have not ever seen one like that before and the fish water bottle is cute too. I have the folding shelf/cart like yours. It is a handy piece. I love mine. Good finds.

Why don't they still make those carts?!!! What a wonderful thing. I can see it being used dozen of ways. Great for displays, too.

Love the flapper girl and Halloween blower! The vintage bathing cap sure is cute with all the detailing. I've never seen a cart like that either! Sure is sweet that it can fold up for storage. The $2 price tag makes it even sweeter :-) I'm in need of a vintage fix too!
Hope some good sales come your way next weekend!
