My newly acquired mannequin head has been with me almost a week now.
He is staying in my living room and I have had some fun with him.
Vintage child size ear muffs found at Farm Chicks a few years ago.
An old estate sale found hat that my son Ben used to wear is a bit too roomy on him.
Child size vintage sunglasses fit him well.
He looks really good in party hats.
He is ever so charming in a bow tie.
He has won his way into my heart and I am sure you will see more of him in future posts. He needs a name tho. A good, old fashioned quirky name. After a week together I have yet to come up with one. Anyone have a good suggestion?
Happy day!
He just looks like a "Timmy" to me! I guess it's because of his sweet face and he kinda makes me think of the age of LASSIE;)
Such a precious find! My favorite pic is the Bow tie!

He is pretty darn adorable. My husband came up with four names: Alastor, Ollie, Chester and Henry. Yes. I made him stop watching the news to see your post. You are going to have loads of fun dressing him up this year.

Basil! As in Brenda Starr's beau! Or Winston! Or Freddie, as in Bobbsey.

I knew you would have a ball "dressing" him. I think Fenworthy is a cute name for that little character.

How about Manny -- full name...Manny Quin.
That's what I named my full torso, young, handsome guy. He seems to like it.
Of the above suggested names, I think Buddy is pretty cute.

He's a real cutie!

I was going for Billy, but I have to say I love Janet's suggestion -- Manny Quin!
Posted by: Martha | March 01, 2014 at 07:46 PM
...I was thinking that you needed an 'H' name to go along with Shara's little girl mannequin HAZEL - maybe HAROLD (Can't you just hear a Mom yelling that out the back screen door in the 50's?), or I do like HERMAN or HENRY.
~BUT THEN, THE SONG came on the radio with THE ULTIMATE lyrics~
"He says his name's William.. but I'm sure He's Bill or Billy or Mac or Buddy"
**With a name like WILLIAM, you can 'address' him as his attire requires that particular day ;-)!!

There was a radio show in the 40's or 50's that began with a mother calling for her son .. "Henry .. Henry Aldrich!"

I thought he looked like a Bobby to me as well.!

He's Bobby Blue Eyes to me! Great find, and continue to have fun with him.
Posted by: Aimee | March 02, 2014 at 10:38 AM
I was thinking Ralphie until I read Janet's suggestion....Manny Quin .... too cute!!! Love the bow tie on him!
Posted by: Sherry@Back2Vintage | March 02, 2014 at 03:13 PM
I think he is a Roger or a Winston. :) Good luck with choosing a name.
Posted by: Judy | March 02, 2014 at 06:18 PM
I kind of like the suggestion of Eddie myself! :-) When I was a kid, I loved the Little Eddie books by Carolyn Hayward!
Seriously, any of the following would work: Allistair (lots of us are thinking of that one--could be a sign), Harold (after Harold and the Purple Crayon), Maurice, Dewey, Dwight, or Wendell. They've got that "ring" to them.
PS Okay, maybe not Eddie, but how about Edward? :-)

I vote for Ken.

He looks like my brother Clarence, who usually had a nickname like 'Sport' and "Buddy'. His siblings called him Turnip because, well, frankly his head looks sort of turnip shaped. Same round cheeks and hair comb technique.

Ha! Looks like you are having quite a fun time with him... whatever name you choose will be great!
