We had a nice weekend at the beach. It was REALLY stormy on Saturday with lightning and thunder and high winds. Saturday we drove north from Seaside to Astoria. As I mentioned in my previous post I usually don't have good luck junking at the beach. This trip I spotted a "garage sale" sign at a local grange hall and found goodies there. I also hit an estate sale in Astoria and found a few more treasures. Bonus finds after a good estate sale on Friday!
Lots of random and oddball..but great items for my crafting.
A pink plastic fish spoon rest (for future beach house), some cotton birds and a couple of packs of pipe cleaners.
At the estate sale I found one big box of Christmas that I dug through. From that box came a plastic Santa boot candy container, two snowman (that need a Magpie Ethel makeover), a trio of spun cotton snowmen and assorted ornaments. I really like the green plastic Christmas tree.
An old ceramic deer, Christmas ornaments and a turquoise recipe box.
A ceramic lamb destined for Easter crafting and a ball of twine.
I really like the old pink polka dot hat box. Old plastic doilies, a trio of Halloween pumpkins and some mushrooms for crafting.
An assortment of Christmas ornament sprays and old party horns.
An vintage scotch tape tin and a bunch of plastic animal straws. I really like the animal straws for some silly reason.
On the way home from Astoria we drove through the small town of Gearhart and spotted a herd of about 40 elk. They were on one side of the road grazing. It was fun to see them up close and watch them in the stormy weather.
Love the pink fish spoon rest. It's good to dream about future beach houses!! Darling lamb. Lots of crafting adventures await with all your latest finds. Looks like a perfect weekend.

You have such luck! Those animal straws are so fun. Certainly never see elk around here. I've seen two deer in 15 years.

Hanna is going to freak out when she sees that you hit an awesome estate sale in her area the one weekend that she is down here with me! Do you know how rare a good estate sale in Astoria/Seaside is?! It's like finding a Golden Ticket. I am glad that you found some good stuff though. At least those treasures went home with you and not some of those relentless, rude people that Hanna has to deal with!

Luck must just follows you when it comes to sales. I went to the flea mkt here yesterday and it was packed full of vendors and I came home with one little costume jewelry necklace to throw in with my hoarded stash. Love the fish spoon rest too! The rest is right up your alley for crafting. I have a few of those gnomes or elves in the wire ornament.
Phil had to come over and check out the elk LOL. It was fun to scroll down and see a different pic on your post.
Happy that it was a great weekend for you!

Fun finds and you got some good pics of the elk too. Too bad the weather wasn't good for the beach but at least the junking was good.

All I saw in Astoria 35 years ago was the tower which I climbed in pumps before we went out to dinner seaside...imagine my calves the next day!

I found a box of those snowballs too this year. I spotted them next to the lamb and twine. A very nice haul for an unexpected sale.

So fun to see all your weekend finds! You had a field day! All your pics just make me smile. I have that pink fish, but my favorite item you got was that terrific pink hat box with red polka dots! Can't wait for better weather here so I can do some thrifting!

A trip to the beach sounds great plus add in some treasures and you have the perfect house. I hope your someday beach house comes true! I can't imagine seeing that many Elk - or ONE for that matter! The deer have been coming close to our house lately and I live less than a block from a major highway in town. But, they are fun to see.

Between all the sales you hit this weekend I am in awe. Literally I may find ONE of those items in 3 months, and you find so much every week it seems! Whats your secret, please share!
