We are supposed to be having temperatures in the 80s this week. Time to work in my yard! With gardening on the brain, I decided to add to a previous challenge that was posted almost two years ago...Challenge #104 - Vintage Garden/Flower Items. As you know the hunt is never over, I am always adding to collections and finding more related stuff.
This little gardening truck was a recent estate sale find.
I probably would have passed it by but the logo on the side was too darling...Gardening - Fill Dirt Trees and Shrubs - Ferry Seeds.
Vintage seed packets have great illustrations of flowers.
An old sweet pea trellis in original packaging. Sweet peas are one of my favorite spring flower.
A teeny tiny green metal wheelbarrow.
I always pick up old gardening catalogs at estate sales. The colors and illustrations are really amazing. Most of these date to the 1950s.
An empty grass seed box.
This company called Garden Club seemed to produce a variety of gardening items. I like how the word CRUMPLE WIRE on the flower holder is written with crumpled letters.
A can of Twist n Tye.
Unused gardening gloves. The pair with the roses is quite appropriate as Portland is known as the City of Roses.
Are you are wondering what I do with this assortment of gardening stuff? Between holidays I may do a fun seasonal display. Such is the case right now on my china hutch.
Ready for spring! If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of _____." A collection springs up each Tuesday!
What a fun and eclectic gardening collection! I really like that gardening truck. I like how you are using these items for a kitschy display. I'll have to show this to Chris. He worked at a nursery all through high school and college. I keep thinking our shed structure made of old doors should be filled with vintage gardening things.

I need to start looking for those catalogs. The illustrations are so pretty!
Heading outside today after dropping Maddie off at school. She offered to stay home to help me outside. What a sneak...

Very fun collection! The grass seed packet is great! Temps in the 80s? We're only supposed to be in the 50s this week which is way below normal. :(

Some of the cutest gardening things ever -- that little truck is my favorite! The dakota chief grass seed box makes me wonder why packaging isn't as charming as it once was? Who wouldn't buy a box of grass seed if it looked like that? :-) Another great collection, Ethel!

Great post to see today! I think most places are sunny today or at least starting to thaw?
Nice to get to the end of this and see how you display things. I was actually wondering what you did with those vintage finds :-)
I just purchased two vintage pump insecticide sprayers (or whatever they're called)and trying to figure out how to display them. One is an orange Black Flag one and the other one actually has a glass jar attached to it and it says Hudson on it that's kind of cool looking.
The wheels are turning in my head again :-)
Have a wonderful day!
