Musings from Kim k.

I'm being told to get off the laptop but I'm so glad to see one more magpie post. Love absolutely everything. Wishing you a festive fourth!!!

Melissa

I thought I was ready for tomorrow and then I saw your post!
Your "ready" puts my "ready" to shame. :o)
You have such a good eye on how to display things. I especially like the tins you use. I get SO many ideas from your posts.
I still want pictures of your kitchen close up. The way you arrange things really does inspire others!
Happy 4th of July!!!

Kathy

I adore that little clock and the sweet little pair inside!

Erica

I love that life jacket! What an awesome addition to all of your red, white, and blue. I found a few of those Rexhall signs and worked them into my decorations this year too. I'll be posting later!

Have an awesome day. Any plans for the holiday?

I've been gathering red, white and blue "everything" to add to my 4th of July stash. This is the most decorating I've (ever) done for the 4th! Thanks to your posts of course :-) I zoomed in on your pics to see every bit of what you used for props. Amazing how I look at things now with the "Magpie Ethel Thinking Cap" on ;-)
Spending our anniversary and weekend on the lake too hot at home!
Have a Happy 4th of July weekend!
**Any sales out there?.....never know!

You definitely have the most unique 4th of July display I've seen so far. My own display pales in comparison! Love that Red & White shortening tin. Have a safe and happy 4th!!!

Shara

I love it all! That little clock case is wonderful with the couple in it. I have a slew of patriotic Christmas Cards - the colors don't fit into my Christmas decor - I just might have to put them out on the 4th - great idea!

Did you ever name your mannequin?

It's all fantastic! I love the tall tin horn, and the red and white tins just set everything off! Did you make the patriotic figures or are they great finds? Happy 4th!

Diane

Great displays! You sure get in the spirit of things. Can you imagine there was a time when something cost four cents?

Using the clock as a frame is brillant. I really think you should publish a book of your pictures. I would buy it and alot of other readers would too.
Here at the office, I am reminded of our independence every work day. My boss has a newpaper framed above the filing cabinet in our office from 11/11/1918. The headline "The Germans Surrender; World War Over. That paper was saved by a family member of his. It is sad that we are still involved in wars and that people still have to fight for freedom. Have a wonderful 4th of July.

Oh, the Star Spangled Banner!! What an incredible piece of history. It's so colorful and wonderful. All the d├ęcor is super. You really do holiday it up!!

Oh, how festive! Enjoying this post so much! Thank you for making my evening! Have a blessed 4th! Love the way you display everything. Even down to the red, and blue clothes pins! Where do you get all the horizontal space in the house? Love it! Too much! I'll be watching the 4th of July fireworks on the National Mall.

Did you ever name your little fellow? I thought of you today when I was working my booth and I pulled an old Shedd's peanut butter jar out of a box to price. It had a star spangled red white and blue lid! I thought that either you or Shara would fill it with red white and blue marbles or something and add it to you displays! And then I forgot to take a pic!

Tammy

I love the Christmas cards from WWII era, lots of red, white and blue in the graphics! Fun, fun display!

Lisa W.
