One of my favorite blogland friends Melissa challenged me to show my collection of mirrors. At first my mind went to hand mirrors...I don't have any. I decided this challenge would show the mirrors around my house...most of which are vintage. (Let me also add it is hard to photograph mirrors as that reflection is a tricky thing)
I don't just hang a mirror. I tend to decorate a mirror. I don't mind if there is some patina to the mirror and it makes my reflection wonky.
I have had this one forever. The garland is an old Christmas garland and on the tin plates I added floral decals to the center. The yellow frame is as found.
This round mirror was found at a local antique mall and was perfect for my vintage style bathroom.
I also have a bird theme going on in this bathroom. These bird mirrors fit right in. These are all vintage.
This mirror was estate sale found and I tend to pull it out for holidays. The remainder of the year I have a floral print that hangs in this spot in the living room. I like the shape of the mirror and it is fun to decorate with. Here it is this Halloween.
Here is the same mirror last Christmas.
I love this vanity mirror in Kate's room with the trifold. You can also catch a horrific glimpse into the chaos of her room with Christmas inventory.
This old medicine cabinet is also in Kate's room. She used to store her jewelery in it.
This mirror was estate sale found and this was the original color. I sanded it down a bit and there was pink underneath. I added the ceramic flower which is an old wall pocket vase.
At yet another estate sale I found this large old mirror that lives over my bedroom dresser. I display vintage bling on either side of it. A honeycomb garland decorates it as well.
In our upstairs bathroom I have a small oval mirror that hangs from a floral hook by a colorful ribbon. (and shockers...this is an old Pottery Barn item...not vintage)
I found this great old mirror on a road trip with Amy. It lives in Ben's room.
In my studio I have this skinny vintage mirror that hangs on one side of my french doors. I think it might be an old doorplate. I use it to see how much glitter is on my face when I leave the studio after crafting!
I also have a few odds and ends mirrors. I sometimes use these for a display at home or at one of my shows.
There you go Melissa. Mirrors at my house!
If you have an idea for a future challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of ____". A new collection each week.
Perfect! I swear there isn't anything we can throw at you that you don't have!
I don't know what is more impressive, the wonderful items you have or your extreme organizational skills!
Looking forward to a Halloween decorating entry soon!!!

Alex asked me once why we have so many mirrors in the house. It's so hard to pass them up with the fun embellishments that some of them have. Plus, they are great space fillers! I am on the hunt for some good ones for the bathroom remodel. Love those bird ones the best!

I have no idea how you fit so much vintage goodness in your house! You should write a post about how you do it... I'd be interested, since I live in a pretty small house (1080 sq ft).

I've never seen that many kinds of mirrors in one house before! I'm also amazed at how many different shapes there are. Love those bird ones! It's not a horrific glimpse of chaos either....I was drooling over the boxes of goodness esp the snowmen. Great idea to use a mirror for seasonal decorating too. Never thought of using an old medicine cabinet somewhere else besides a bathroom! You look great in the mirrors too:-) I'm surprised there's not one with you covered in glitter!
I need more coffee now!
Thanks for sharing this great post of mirrors! Your house is just too cute too :-)

Only you would have a glitter detector mirror!

I heard a truth somewhere recently - glitter is the herpes of the crafting world. Once you have it, it's with you FOREVER!

Another collection I love! The bird mirrors are my favorite. I love the last shot, the reflections are perfect, especially since you matched your pants to the flowers.

Of course I love this post because in addition to seeing another fabulous collection, it's another opportunity to show off your amazing house and how you've displayed all your treasures!

You can never have too many mirrors, if you ask me. they add so much extra light to the house. I adore the tri-fold in Kate's room.

Still taunting me with the mirror that got away, I see. :-) Those birdie mirrors are my favorites and so perfect in your birdie bathroom. You really do have the eye for making it all work together. Another great collection!
