I did a post on vintage wedding on challenge #53. That was 4 years ago and my collection has grown a bit since then. In the past couple of weeks I have found vintage wedding on four different occasions. It is time to do an updated post.
These are all chalkware or plaster couples. The one on the right I just found this past weekend. It is dated 1941 on the bottom.
A bride and groom Tavern candle in the original box.
This couple is ceramic.
I got this pair last weekend at that great estate sale. I got it the last day for half price. I have never seen a shelf sitter couple like this.
This darling couple is mounted on a base with the arch and all the flowers. Dang sweet.
These are all modern. The couple on the left is one of those toys where you push the bottom up and they dance about. The other couple I bought as I really thought they were sweet. So often wedding figures are not super attractive..this pair looked so elegant and handsome.
Last year at an estate sale I got a bunch of glasses that were for months. I keep the June glass in my wedding cabinet.
These wedding couples are both less than an inch high.
I always have a soft spot for old spun head bride and groom picks.
This little couple have spun cotton heads and pipe cleaner bodies.
This bride is adorable. I love her pipe cleaner dress. I found her solo and I really wish I knew what her groom looked like.
I just found this couple the other day and they are a favorite.
Their faces are tiny (smaller than a marble) and the details are super. Look at her eyelashes.
This little ceramic couple was found at Goodwill years ago.
This bridesmaid bouquet was found at Alameda and I display it in my cabinet with my wedding friends.
I am still over the moon with these crepe paper figures found at Farm Chicks. The cutest bride and groom and bridesmaids...DARLING. I found the wood bead gal on the left a few years ago. She had no groom. The couple on the right I found a couple of weeks ago. She came with a purple cape which I wasn't thrilled with, so I added the veil and she became a bride. Two brides...one groom....hmmmm.
I made this spun head couple years ago and they live in my wedding cabinet.
I also have a few wedding mica birds that fly about in my wedding cabinet.
All my wedding friends live in a built-in cabinet in my dining room. They are tucked in with some of my dishes and such. (the leaded glass door is open for the photo)
A fun collection to share in the month of June when so many weddings take place. Tom and I just had our 26th anniversary earlier this month.
If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and finish the sentence "Show me your collection of ___."
Fun to share these figures as they walk down the collection challenge aisle!
I have the mica bird set and that's it for my vintage wedding stuff! I think you must have it all :-) I can't get enough of those crepe paper cuties. I bet they get a smile out of you every time you look.
Fun day with Norah ahead. Lots of IG posts ahead!

Just like Erica, I'm just smitten with your crepe paper additions. A very sweet and romantic collection. I especially love that they are up year-round in your dining room. I would have to also add that I know of a certain wedding couple cake topper that you made for a very special friend that was equally beautiful. Hugs!

Those crepe paper ones you just found are super great! A blog reader came to the Junk Ranch and brought me a Biestel honeycomb Bride and Groom and bridesmaid. So sweet. I bought a bunch of stuff in a box lot once. I was about to throw out an old matchbox when I thought I better look inside it - I found the sweetest little Bride and groom spun head couple. SWOON.
Those collections just keep on coming......

Another charming collection. I love how they all reside in a cabinet in your dining room. Such a great way to enjoy them year round. My favorites are the spun head and pipe cleaner brides and groom. It is amazing how they are made with such care and detail. So like your creations!

This collection is so lovely. I am always amazed by how creative people can be with pipe cleaners. Of course you take the cake in that category. Wedding cake this time.

You have collected all the most wonderful pieces. It seems that many of the wedding couples I see are kind of goofy looking. Yours are super!

Super cutecollection! When I got married we used a family cake recipe that couldn't be enlarged to big wedding cake size so we had a regular sized cake for each table which meant that I got to put a different topper on each cake. I had my parent's topper (celluloid bride and a pipe cleaner groom) and a set of bride/groom kewpies and the rest I found at antique or junk shops or bought new - I even had a Day of the Dead skeleton bride/groom!
