With this holiday weekend, estate sales were slim. I did not plan on going out into estate sale land. I did pop by a vintage shop and while there overheard a conversation about an estate sale nearby. I asked the person for the address and they said it was the last day, but there still might be some things left to dig through.
I went. I dug.
This stuff was all jumbled here and there in random boxes. I found fun stuff. It made me wonder what I had missed.
Vintage kewpie doll and a lone ribbon spool for crafting.
Lots of tidbits. The postmark on the envelope is dated 1925 and the flag graphic is awesome.
I dig the little SOS graphic on the oil can.
I dug a few old Valentines out of boxes. The box of Holiday puzzles has four inside and each is complete.
Risque warning. I threw this little nudie gal in my box not paying much attention to her. When I got home and was looking through things I discovered she has a little handle on the bottom. When you turn it the nudie gal gyrates in a suggestive manner. She is pretty crazy.
A couple of holiday records, a great party book dated 1939 and a cute little Santa. The Santa has a pack full of mercury glass beads.
I have a thing for patriotic themed framed items like this Pledge of Allegiance.
The gentleman who's estate is was had worked at the local fuel company for years. He had some old unused calendars that the company used to hand out to customers. I liked this one from our local zoo dated 1963. The elephant photos are from our local zoo and feature Packy the elephant when he was born. (Packy is famous as he was one of the first elephants born at a zoo and is still a popular attraction at our zoo)
I found some neat old items from the Rose Festival parade (local) as well as the Pasadena Rose Parade. I wish one of the programs would have been associated with the queen that lives at my house.
A Chinese checker set complete with all the marbles and checkers tucked into tiny drawers. This set has wonderful graphics...look at the fellow's ears.
Not bad for a little eavesdropping. Got my junking fix for the weekend!
I buy and sell a lot of Chinese Checker games - but the one you showed is the one I kept strictly for those pixie ears and the fun checkers. I was showing a lot of nudies on my blog, but now the torch has been handed to you!

I'd be happy to happen upon this sale too. I did randomly drive by one one the 4th after our town parade. They just had a bunch of furniture in the driveway. Some neat pieces, but all overpriced. :(

I just found that exact same Chinese checker game. The graphics ARE great. I envy the sales in your area. I have similar taste in things I dig for but have to really hunt here in Dallas area and never find the volumes you find. Your blog remains my favorite. I have a surprise item for you .....if it does not sell on ebay I want to gift it to you as a thank you for your posts. Your finds are so similar to many things I have bought and sold over the years. The gift is listed on my ebay right now but will definitely get it to you for your someday sea side cottage. If it sells on ebay, I am sure I will find something else. Don't think I am crazy....I love finding things for people and often give thank your "junk" gifts just because. Enjoy all that you do....as it provides others with so much enjoyment.
Regards
