Another show approaches on my show schedule. This weekend I have a show in a local elementary school. The school is an old brick building and is darling with old school charm. Awesome vendors. This is a favorite show.

I don't do the Thanksgiving holiday at my house. We head to my parents about 20 minutes away. That does not stop me from decorating for the holidays. One big bin...a whole lot of turkeys.
I pretty much just decorate my china hutch and the front window. This time of year my house is taken over with holiday inventory, so the fact that I get this much Thanksgiving decoration going is remarkable.
I have over 50 turkeys that decorate the top of my hutch (not including the paper kind). Ceramic turkeys, turkey candles, pinecone turkeys...you name it and I might have it.
The turkey with the turquoise neck is a favorite. It is by Crystal.
Behind the glass doors of the cabinet live my Gurley candle pilgrims and indians.
I tuck my vintage Thanksgiving paper plates behind them for some interest. I don't unload most of my china from the hutch, but just decorate towards the front.
I found that tall leaf candle a few weeks ago in estate sale land. It is Gurley. I decided it worked well with my fall/Thanksgiving decorations.
I don't usually decorate my front window. This year after I took down my Halloween pumpkins my little neighbor girl was so SAD. (She will be two in February) She had visited my front window pumpkins everyday and I did not realize the lack of a window display would disappoint her. Luck was with me and I had found some huge honeycomb turkeys this year in estate sale land. I now have a front window full of honeycomb turkeys just for her. Wait till she sees my Santas!
I had a heck of a time with the window glare, but you get the idea.

This past Saturday was the Plucky Maidens Holiday Junk Fest. It was in a new location this year and we had all day on Friday to set up. It was so nice to have that much time (a couple of my shows only have a two hour window).
Showtime was Saturday. I was ready and the crowds came. LOTS of photos of my booth. It was fun to be able to combine vintage finds with the things I make. It was fun to visit with vendor friends as well as blog readers and IG followers. It was just plain fun.
Here we go.
I had a huge 10 x 20 spot and it was full.
I had to set this white tree up in my bedroom on a trial run as I had no room anywhere else in my house.
On Instagram when I had photos of my Putz houses, Amy (Into Vintage) referred to my subdivision of houses as "Ethelville". The name stuck and I made a sign for my little subdivision of homes.
I really have fun putting it all together. It is one thing to be crafting it, but another thing to see it all work together and become a colorful holiday world.
I had a bunch of old stock potato bags and used them to bag up two dozen ornaments each. I like the eye catching graphic on the bags with the cheerleader.
My bottlebrush trees in the funky colors are always a hit.
I sold ornaments individually at one price for your choice.
So proud of my friend Pam, for putting this show together and how it has grown each year. It has been a pleasure to be a vendor since the beginning.
This was the eye candy at the front door. My Santa is the driver.
Another fun little show stopper was this vintage Rudolph ride. It is like the old school kind that used to be at the entrance to a grocery store. This one took dimes at one point. The vendor (Pam, of Noma Girl Vintge) who brought it offered free rides to kids at the show. It was truly one of a kind.
Another show behind me. Next on the agenda is the front window at Monticello Antique Mall with Amy (December 1st). Two shows after that...tis the Season!

This is the most difficult Etsy sale for me to do. I have been crafting like crazy (you know that if you follow me on Instagram). With Christmas I have my shows as well so I have to divide my inventory up. I will have lots coming to Etsy thought...a little of this and that.

I have posted 276 collection and my first challenge was April of 2010. That is a TON of collections. I am busier than every this holiday season and have decided that instead of every Tuesday posting a new collection, this will become an occasional series. I will still add to my challenges, just not weekly. The fact that I am not posting weekly does not mean I am not still collecting. You should know me better than that!
THE HUNT IS STILL ON.....
The holiday craft season has begun and my first show has come and gone. Here it is.
I never know how this table will all fit together. I have a two hour window before the doors open to make it all fit. 8 foot table = a puzzle of vintage Christmas. I do like putting all my creations together into one wacky big display of color and shiny holiday.
This almost turned into the battle between the party birds and the snowmen.
A great day. Fun to chat with customers and the other vendors. Lots of customers mentioning they follow me on IG or my blog which was super cool.
Two week break till my next show. I hope to have Etsy up and listed and aiming for the 16th. That following weekend is a super fun show with a mix of vintage and things I make...Plucky Maidens. I have a huge booth too, so will fun to fill it with treasures!

My first show of the season is fast approaching. I spent today prepping...pricing, sorting and gathering props. It is my smallest show of the year, but it gets me going.
I also love this show because it has a little area where the parishioners have donated vintage treasures and I always find something. It also offers food. I end up with a cinnamon roll for a morning snack and lasagne for lunch. No need to pack a lunch! Great perks to this show.

Vintage Childs Sewing Cards. I collect these because of their charm. I remember doing sewing projects like this as a kid. The cards are punched so you sew in and out through holes and outline the pictures. Easy.
Easy, but they box still came with directions.

This one is the size of a postcard and is stitched all around. I have it hanging in my studio.
I was thrilled to run across this box of sewing cards the other day that are almost like a deck of cards. These would be so easy for a mother to carry in her purse and pull out to entertain a child when need be.

I went on Ebay when doing this post just out of curiosity since my collection has been found entirely at estate sales. I was surprised to see how many sewing cards are listed...and there are some darling ones. Really darling.
