Oh, this was a a good year for shopping at Farm Chicks. With the beach house a reality now, I was on the hunt for goodies for that. I bought bigger and spent more than my usual budget. It was GOOD.
I found one item in particular that just had to come home with me. She is just too perfect for the beach house. She is a full size swim mannequin. The woman I bought it from used to work at Meier and Frank in Salem. She had a friend who was a store display person and that woman got it from the store and had it for years. It came with the suit and swim cap. I hope to suspend her from a wall or the ceiling. How cool is she?
Here is rest of what I bought. It was hard to get a photo of my stuff, since it wasn't just the usual small stuff. The sign just made me laugh. LAZY. I am anything but lazy, but hoping the beach house will bring some lazy days into my life. It will hang at the beach house. Perfect.
This chair is for the beach house too. I am in love with the inset floral design. I've seen many vinyl chair, but never one like this.
The deal breaker was that it is a rocker! I've never seen another like it.
Lots of my usual smalls. Many beach house bound. I love this little chalkware sailor and the little ship shelf.
Even though I am done with most of my Fourth of July crafting (I list it tomorrow), I still hoard and collect patriotic crafting goodies year round. I am always thrilled to find these Made in Japan vintage silk flags. The little black price tags will be used for crafting too. The orange curlers were just too funny...Halloween crafting of some sort.
Lots of interesting littles. A child's birthday invite for my collection.
These metal morning glory forms are awesome. My friend Nancy, of Fun Junk found them at Brimfield and had them for sale. I am going to make a bouquet with them.
I even found a fun metal vase to use for the bouquet. I'm about to put my Fourth of July decorations out so this little flag plaque will be included this year.
Some fun pillows for the couch at the beach house. (couch is still on order) I love the ball shaped pillow. The grass seed bag will be made into something.
I got a pair of end tables for the beach house (only one made it into this shot). I like the shelves and the back has a pocket for magazines or newspapers. They are the perfect color, so I don't think I need to even repaint them. There is not much Christmas at Farm Chicks since it is a June show. I did find a vintage angel tree topper that needs a trip to my studio.
I also got really lucky and scored FOUR aluminum wall mounting Christmas trees in the original boxes. They are complete with the branches and the paper sleeves inside.
I have a love affair with these homemade crescent shelves. This one is cute with the little balcony. I might do a wall of them at the beach house...still debating.
I was on the hunt for a corner shelf as I have a plan in mind at the beach house. I was lucky to find one I think is pretty perfect...it just needs some paint. The next three photos all are sitting on the shelves.
It is hard to pass up deer shaped buttons on the original card.
This silly whale was my $1 find. I like the groovy look to it, but it was really poorly painted and the green eye and blue teeth just had to go. It will be a mindless painting project and I think she will be much happier after it.
It really was some fun shopping. My Mom shopped both days with me and carried around many of my purchases. It was like having an assistant! (thanks Mom).
I'll have a post up soon on the show itself. Another fun Farm Chicks show come and gone!
Wish I'd known you like those crescent shelves - I've sold two in the last few months! I was tempted to keep them but you know how that goes!

As usual you've found some great, fun stuff. I see those orange curlers turned into skeletons of some sort!
You are going to have a blast decorating your "at last beach house!"

That rocker is amazing. I have never seen one either. I recently scored an end table just like yours but son talked me out of it. So much goodness! I'm looking forward to seeing the beach house decor.

You really scored some great stuff. I can't wait to see the wall mounted christmas trees. Please set those up before December, so I don't have to wait so long to see them!

I was thinking the same thing as the above comment that your gal needs a fun name. Esther is what pops to mind first for me.
I can't wait to see her in the beach house!!!

Great stuff! The fresh fish sign cracks me up. You wouldn't want day-old fish now, would you?
