This past weekend I had a garage sale. It was super and I got rid of a bunch of stuff. I also had lots of blog readers and IG followers stop by which was super fun. I was in full garage sale prep and really didn't have time to hit estate sales I had to CONCENTRATE on purging myself. I was running some errands on Friday and there was one estate sale that I popped by. It had hundreds of bobbleheads and it was really fun to see so many in one place.
I didn't buy a thing and thought about returning on Sunday for half price. I really loved that little gal in the front.
My own garage sale on Saturday was great. Good weather, good crowds and a full driveway. It was much emptier by the end of the day.
My Mom helps me each year with the sale. Usually I stay put in my driveway and just sell. This year I kept hearing from shopper friends that there was a guy in the next block that had vintage sunglasses for sale. LOTS of sunglasses for $3 a pair. I could not resist and make a quick run up the street at one point when there was a bit of a lull in customers. Here was part of what he had. I of course had to buy some.
Sunday I made it back to the estate sale for half price. I drove by when in opened and there was a line to get in. I wasn't in the mood to wait so I ran some errands and looped back on the way home a couple of hours later. I still managed to find some goodies.
A ton of the bobbleheads had been sold, but there were still a few there. I thought this pair should come home with me.
That little gal from the first photo had a rough time at the sale. Her bobble had come off the head and she no longer worked. I asked if I could get her at a further discount since she was a bobble on Friday when I saw her. They gave her to me for FREE. I fixed her bobble and she is quite happy again.
Easter bunny bobble.
A pair of scary dolls for Halloween and a Hull vase (for the beach house).
This pair will head to the studio.
Here are the sunglasses I found at the garage sale up the street, as well as nodder dog.
I left the estate sale and on the way home I popped by one more. I ended up finding this vintage lamp. It was $10. It is already hanging in the beach house and is perfect. I can't believe my luck with it.
A great weekend. I saw friends. I got rid of junk and made money. I found junk at estate sales. I found groovy sunglasses. I also made an trip to the beach house for projects. It was happy.
The amount of activities that you packed into your weekend is amazing! I've had so much following you on IG and keeping up with the latest and greatest happenings. The beach house progress is unbelievable!

I would've wanted to buy all the vintage sunglasses. They're my weakness!

Did you notice in the picture that the writing on the tins is backward? Cute glasses, funny picture! Love it.

In my Magpie Ethel garage sale dream, you had a clothing rack out front with vintage Christmas stuff for sale :) Looks like you had a great weekend - buying and selling!
