It has been FOREVER since I did a collection challenge. The last one was over a year ago! (Due to Instagram taking over my world). It is girl scout cookie season and I picked up a few boxes the other day. Country Living also had a really fun spread on Girl Scout things. I was a girl scout for years. From Brownies all the way through into Cadettes. My Mom was my leader much of the time. It was really a fun organization to belong to. I thought it would be fun to share what Girl Scout things I have in honor of cookie sales!
The poster above was found at a local estate sale. I found two. I sold one on Etsy and the other hangs in my house year round. Here we have some official collection envelopes for cookie money. How about a cookie sale bumper sticker? Found at the same estate sale as the posters.
I still have my Girl Scout uniform. I wear it for Halloween. It is my uniform from my Junior years and my vest from my Cadette years. (it is tight in the bust and short, but it works fine for a fun costume). I am proud of those badges I earned.
I went to Girl Scout camp every summer too. We lived in Alaska when I was a kid and I want to a Girl Scout camp called "Camp Brush Them Off"... a nod to the giant mosquitos that live in Alaska!
Even the label of the uniform is cool. Oh polyester.
A few old girl scout books. Mine is packed away.
An vintage Brownie paper doll with uniforms of the world.
An old first aid kit and a few of my old girl scout pins.
Girl Scout records. An old Girl Scout ad from a magazine. The prices for the uniform pieces are crazy cheap.
I love this old friendship book I picked up at an estate sale.
I mentioned that my Mom was a leader forever. I still have her uniform and wear it for Halloween sometimes as well. It is a two piece number in polyester with a zip up top. Very stylish. She has some fun patches on her uniform.
Fun to share. Lots of fun memories as a Girl Scout. I wish I had a photo to post of me in my uniform.
If you have an idea for a future collection challenge, leave me a comment and I will see what I can do. I don't think collections will ever be shared weekly again like I did for so long, but I certainly hope another year does not go by without a new one to share! Happy Day.
