When you walk by my house you can tell I like the holiday. When you come inside you call tell I REALLY like it.
My front window. The flag was my grandfathers that hangs in the background. The two stars are handmade wood ones picked up at estate sales. One of them lights up at night.
Fourth of July is not the easiest holiday to collect for, but I have been lucky with the hunt for it.
One of my favorite collections is my sailor themed one. The stars scattered about are mostly old Christmas tree toppers in red, white and blue. There are also a bunch of old sparkler boxes with those great graphics. My mantle is a parade of vintage. Old drums, noisemakers, horns and record covers. My china hutch holds my collection of framed patriotic items. An assortment of crafted and collected friends rounds out the display. Vintage patriotic themed greeting cards. I found this darling paper piece at Alameda flea market a few years ago. Someone had mounted it on the red paper so displaying it is super easy. The lighting for this shot is always hard. This is my collection of vintage hat shaped candy boxes and other red, white and blue items. How wonderful is this crepe paper fringe? It was crafted into a centerpiece with a flag mounted in the center. I was thrilled when I found it in estate sale land. It is hard to pass up a patriotic themed record. Wishing you all a safe and happy Fourth of July.
