I am decked out in Halloween at my house and ready for trick or treaters to hit next week.
My front window has my collection of vintage blow molds. I have orange lights scattered around them for night time spookiness. (If I try to plug them all in I blow a fuse in my house)
This year my front porch was home to roosting owls. I collected vintage owls (meant to scare birds from gardens and such) from estate sales this year. With a few wood crates, a spooky branch (found on a neighborhood walk) and orange lights...it all came together. I also used my tattered umbrellas once again. I think I have used those for 7 or 8 years, and I love the quirky interest they add to the porch.
Step inside. I have skeleton land. Lots of vintage skeletons, old dentures and fake teeth, vintage bug killer (great graphics) and skulls.
If you have read my blog or follow me on Instagram you know I like to group like with like. So here we have black cat land as well as all my vintage candy boxes. I REALLY like the candy boxes that are halloween themed.
My coffee table has lots of Halloween quirky treasures. Vintage mice traps, old children's October craft magazines, vintage green cross paper cups (great graphics) and candy corn to nibble on.
My collection of vintage devils and halloween themed noisemakers. I JUST found the devil puppet last week at an estate sale and he is perfect here!
Vintage party favors and games. Lots of misc Halloween figures (some I have crafted, lots are vintage).
Lots of weird costume items on original cardboard or in original packaging. Funny make up cards and oddball masks.
I got these three great pillows last year off Spoonflower. They are HUGE. I got them LAST Halloween and through the year collected bags of stuffing from estate sales to stuff them with. (I find the bags unopened and cheap...it took lots of bags to stuff these!)
The two trees behind this owl pillow hold a collection of vintage owls. I missed getting better photos for this post.
Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins! Assorted varieties and lots of grinning faces.
The interior of the china hutch holds vintage (and some new) candles. Vintage treat bags add to the spooky fun.
I had a bunch of vintage doll legs which I displayed in one of my old crystal punch bowls. Aren't the pom pom flowers cool? I found those at JoAnne craft this year.
Vintage witches hang out in the kitchen.
Staring out the window are a few vintage masks. I am on the lookout for more.
And that concludes the Halloween tour. If you are missing my blog posts (I just don't have the time anymore) you should jump on over to Instagram. I share daily there (crafts, vintage and just about everything) and it really has become the voice that I use.
Darn it! I knew you must have moved to Instagram - I guess I will need to get on board. I loved this post so much, as I am an avid Halloween collector also. I have missed your posts - I was so looking forward to seeing what you had done to the summer house all summer long!
See you over there, I guess!
